For the price, eclectic menu, and location, I wasn't expecting too much. But everything we tried was really tasty. Even things that are very easy to make just decent (bbq jackfruit) exceeded expectations.

I liked that’s it’s all vegan and they have a decent selection of meals, but it’s super salts and the sizes are quite small considering their high prices. I got a salad and tomato soup and each bite was like biting into a spoon full of salt. I’m a little disappointed!

Bucking the trend here to say this place is fine. Good, not amazing. Maybe the hype ruined it or maybe it was the cold falafel pita plate.
Read moreStarted with the garlic knots which I’d probably kill for. The tomato soup was good too. So when the main arrived and the falafel balls were hard and cold and the pita bread was cold and tough, it was ruined. Partner got the extra special avocado toast and that was tasty so I was glad she shared.
Had to ask to have our table wiped, ok, but also the meals came far apart and there was a christian element to the decor that turned me off. All in all, good not great. I’d probably go back for a triple order of the the garlic knots and try a different menu item.

A Pleasant Surprise - Edit
The food is absolutely wonderful! Flavors are great and the portions are decently filling. The mac and cheese was creamy, hot, and satiating!!😄I would definitely order it again. We live on O’ahu (I personally am not overly impressed with the vegan options there) and it is almost worth the flight over for the food alone! I would definitely return on my next trip to the Big Island!

Maybe it was the rainy day, or the appetite we built up ahead of lunch, but Journey had a great-looking selection of vegan options I’d mostly describe as “comfort”. A cozy space, quick service, wonderful staff. The longest part was deciding what to get.

Both dishes were amazing. Got the lava pasta (an upgrade of the Mac n cheese) and the avocado toast upgraded to the inspired toast with olives (if I remember the name correctly). Loved both. Got one with the hummus side and one with the soup. Went next door and got the vegan chocolate brownie sundae. So full and delicious.

I loved this place but have seen it's decline. It's so hard to get the same dish twice cause they never make it the same. I've gone back in three attempts to give it another chance but the last time the owner or manager was very rude and he actually told us the item we ordered was supposed to be burnt and wouldn't fix it. It's too bad because it was once great

you need to come here my whole family including two anti-vegans all fell in love with this place. We tried the Mac and cheese, the sourdough pockets, volcanoe pasta bake and the flatbread pizza and they were all the best meal any of us had on our whole trip. we got the hummus as the side and I HIGHLY recommend it’s made in house and probably the best hummus I’ve ever had. Please come here and bring your friends, you will not regret it!

Read moreWe had the smoky savory jackfruit tacos and the Mac and cheese. We opted to get one of each of the accompanying sides. Hummus was flavorful and the soup of the day was roasted tomato.
The jack fruit tacos were amazing, great flavor and texture.
Pros: Entirely vegan, Location to tourist attraction, Gluten free options.
Cons: No Parking validation, Limiting for those with nut allergies

This was fantastic food! My children and I loved it. We would go back again if not so far from our resort. We were a party of 11 and everyone loved their dishes. I got to try several of them, and can say that they aced the vegan meals. The dining is eclectic and the prices are reasonable

This is our favorite place to eat out on the island. Delicious, fresh, fully vegan! Favorite orders include the sourdough jackfruit pockets, falafel pita, and the journey salad. It’s cool that the mains come with free hummus or soup now but wish the soup was a little lighter and more veg-forward. It can feel heavy / overly creamy. We’ve also had the pizzas and the tacos. Also yummy. Seating options are alright…we definitely prefer to sit outside it it’s mellow or get takeaway, especially to go sit by the ocean. Always top of our list to visit when we’re on this side of the island.

Came here for lunch and shared two items amongst three people. We ordered the avocado flatbread and the herbed jackfruit tacos (they have a sweet and Smokey one as well but I’ve never seen an herbed jackfruit). Each item came with either hummus or soup so we got one of each. The soup was a creamy caramelized onion that was delicious! The jackfruit tacos were quite satisfying as well. I think these have been my favorite version of jackfruit. The flatbread was very light and fresh with plenty of sprouts.

HANDS DOWN BEST VEGAN FOOD WE HAVE EVER HAD!! This is saying a lot - we have been to many vegan places throughout the US in our 5 years (so far) being vegan. The service was great, our order was received quickly and the best part was that the food was AMAZING!! So flavorful, unique, delicious! The atmosphere is excellent also. You don't need to be vegan to eat vegan but our family very much appreciated this gem of a place while we stayed in the area.

Although I was expecting a somewhat larger pizza that what I received, it was a delicious meal! They clearly put a lot of thought into their menu, and the workers are very kind. Tiny little place, so you might struggle with seating if it’s raining outside, but very cozy.

This place is all Vegan and the food I’d amazing. Everything we had was so good. The Mac and cheese was truly excellent. The artisan sourdough pocket with jackfruit was very very good. The Japanese style Doria was also great. The baked lava pasta was loved by all of us. The most pleasant surprise was the journey salad. So good and surprisingly filling. The on.y problem was service was so slow, maybe understaffed the night we we went. We ordered takeout ahead of time and when we got there, they hadn’t seen our order and started it then. It took like an hour. Staff was very pleasant though. If ordering online maybe call and confirm the order.

Everything I tried was excellent. Delicious, flavorful, and the dining room is decorated beautifully. The woman at the front was new but friendly and went to check with someone to help answer our questions. The falafel wrap was great served with tomato basil soup. My sister had the Taco salad which was amazing with jackfruit meat. The passion fruit spritzer was made with fresh Lilikoi juice! It was so good that we went back again! Highly recommend.
