We've lived in Gothenburg before and everytime we go back to visit, we make sure to eat at Jonsborgsgrillen at least once. They have a separate vegan menu with lots of options and also soft serve ice cream. We like the fast food but are divided on the ice cream - two love it, two think it has a weird flavor.

They offer a lot of vegan options, which is great. It’s also very accessible and in a central location. The quality varies, and I would recommend to stay away from the mushroom burger which tasted a bit off. Go for one of the more classic burgers instead! The dipping sauces are really good.

Was walking by and a friend said I had to try it. We got 4 different vegan hot dogs and I do not regret our decision. Each one was perfect. Huge plus side is that they cook them separately than everything else. They are very knowledgeable and extremely fun. I would definitely go back.

Perhaps my expectations were unreasonably high, but I had a lesser opinion of Jonsborg than other reviewers. I got the mushroom burger. The mushrooms were quite good, but the burger patty itself was a bit meh. I didn't have a lot of flavor, and it was crumbly so made it very messy. I love that they have a variety of vegan options, but at the end of the day, this is really a basic fast food joint. I would definitely come back after a night at the bar or for a quick bite, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

I always order the seitan kebab which is really, really good! One of the best things is that it's open late so you can stop by after a night out. Sometimes they are a bit sloppy when assembling the wrap which makes it harder to eat, it might even fall apart...

Small fast food joint near the Museum of Modern Art. It has a couple of tables outside and a bar inside where you can seat. The place is small though. They have plenty of vegan fast food options including ice cream (which I didn't try). Prices are ok. I got a Kebab and it was actually huge. It was tasty but quite messy. The ingredients were not distributed too well and you end up eating too much of one thing at a time. Also the kebab opened because it was not done properly and I had to eat it from the table. A bit messy but at least it was good.

Offers so much vegan food that it's almost hard to pick. I tried a lot of different stuff, including the famous donut soft ice cream! It all tasted delicious, and the price was average.

They were also selling vegan food to cook at home like sausage and dried mince. Over all a good experience!

If you want to grab some easy vegan grub, then hit up Jonsborg. It's in central Gothenburg, and offers some pretty delicious vegan burgers, sausages, and hot dogs. There is a buffet included if you order a combo, and they location also has a small vegan store.

As a vegetarian who prefers vegan food whenever possible, I want vegan friendly businesses to succeed. This one, though, is not meeting the basic criteria of customer service anymore. Over the past few years, I have seen Jonsborgs Grillen steadily decline to the point that I am just no longer able to give them the benefit of the doubt. It is very sad, actually.
Read moreThe owner is rude most the of time. Sara is sweet and some of the staff is good. I decided a few years ago to stop going there when I saw that the owner was working because a good vegan burger was not worth having someone ignore me or fail to acknowledge that I was there.
Jonsborgs Grillen has now become a "build your own burger" place, which means that no matter what you order off the menu, you are expected to go over to the salad bar and add your own toppings. Why have specific burgers on the menu then? The grill is small and cramped and the salad bar is in a very awkward place. The owner had a small vegan store which recently closed. The store's inventory has now been moved to the grill, which makes it even more cramped. So, once you get your naked burger, you need to fight through other patrons so that you can get to the toppings. Then, you have to build a burger in a cramped space, while trying desperately not to tip your plate or get toppings all over other patrons. The salad bar is often dirty or not well stocked. The flavor of the salads and foods on offer is good, however, so if you manage to get there when there is nobody else there and the bar has been stocked, you may have an enjoyable meal.
The vegan food is priced far too high given what it is. The vegan selection in Gothenburg has improved drastically in the past year. Now, you can get a delicious meal for two at a trendy place for the same prace as two burgers and fries at Jonsborgs Grillen.
Sadly, I think this place need to go back to the basics and stop trying so hard. They have gotten a bit off course.

Always handy in lack of time! In this part of the city vegan fast-food is not common, jonsborg always deliver great vegan sausages, tzay with mashed potatoes and vegan burgers. they do have a fridge with some vegan products as well.
