awesome vibe! - Edit
Awesome vibe in here. This is honestly what I would imagine vegan heaven to be like. The design is perfect and the food, staff, and everything there is fantastic. The food had life to it, everything was soo Fresh and I could feel the love in the food.

Really great breakfast - Edit
Their breakfast was so good, I got it to go to eat breakfast at nearby gardens. My husband loves coffee and I got some ground coffee to go as a souvenir for him. It was delicious in our home French press

Visiting Family - Edit
Was out visiting family and took them here cause I saw it on Happy Cow. Glad we came! Everyone loved it. We had the breakfast burrito, burger, one of the bowls, and some snacks from their take-away/prepared snack section.

What a Joi-ful experience! - Edit
Lovely staff and good vibes. Tried the iced matcha Latte with oat milk, bagel sandwich, breakfast burrito, and a vanilla glazed donut. The sauce (maple sriracha aioli) for the bagel sandwich was very tasty and complimented the burrito well too. They also have a full vegan coffee/matcha menu, smoothie menu, and sell rebel vegan cheeses and a variety of pastries and desserts!

Had an allergic reaction (cashews) due to miscommunication but the (I'm assuming) owner gave me a refund and said he loved my Earth Crisis Shirt. Good "health-focused" food even if it is pretty expensive. Just be careful if you have nut allergies.

Cleanest, Healthiest, Most Delicious Vegan Spot North of L.A.! - Edit
Read moreJOi Café in Westlake Village is hands down one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to—and I’ve been to plenty! Everything here is vibrant, fresh, and absolutely packed with flavor.
The Macro Salad is a must-try. It’s a beautiful medley of tofu, red cabbage, shredded carrots, spinach, cucumber, avocado, and a dreamy turmeric tahini dressing that ties it all together perfectly. I added a side of their vegan tuna (made with chickpeas and magic, I swear), and it was next-level delicious.
My other favorite is the Taco Tacos—a hearty and colorful combo of jackfruit, cabbage, corn tortillas, and guacamole, served with a fresh fruit side. They’re flavorful, satisfying, and super clean.
The café itself is immaculate, with a calming vibe and a staff that clearly cares about quality and service. If you’re looking for clean, organic, plant-based food that leaves you feeling energized and happy, JOi Café is the place. This is a true gem just north of Los Angeles!

Vegan Gluten Free Heaven - Edit
They have been open for years, but I haven’t eaten there in probably five years. I found myself in the area again, so I had the fun tuna sandwich which comes with a salad which has a yummy dressing. The tuna was very good on really incredible gluten-free bread. I also had, I believe it was, the soup of the day which was black bean tomato which included chunks of avocado in it. I absolutely love this as well. My friend who is not vegan had the lasagna and I tried some of that and oh my God was that delicious. I also had a cinnamon roll for dessert. That may have come from karma Baker. They had lots of delicious desserts in their showcase in front And that’s the one I settled on, but I wanted to have one of each. In the past Karma Baker was the one that supplied them with the desserts. They have a bakery, not that far from Joi and they are incredible as well. Anyway, whether your someone who eats gluten or not this restaurant is wonderful and I highly recommend it

Delicious but cashless - Edit
The food was great - generous portion, delicious, all gluten free and plant based and left me feeling as great as it tasted other than the fact that they wouldn’t accept cash. So I won’t be going back and only ate there today as I was hungry. There are simply too many reasons not to support places which won’t accept cash so hopefully they gain as much wisdom in politics as they have in diet.
Read moreEveryone working there was very nice, so maybe it’s simply a reflection of the prevailing mind set in this part of California as many of the customers would suggest - beady eyed socialist political influencers hiding behind thick rimmed glasses and hipster beards would love to take away our freedom along with our income through a cashless society which will lead to a social credit system like communist China while they steal through taxes and printing money, ie ‘watering down the whiskey’ and charging twice the price.

Amazing food! - Edit
I took my Omni parents to Joi Café today- they had so many amazing options. We got the tuna sandwich with California salad and it was so fresh and delicious. We also got the peanut butter ball and crunchy treat. There are no pictures because we ate all the food so quickly. I can’t wait to go back and try the salmon burger and lasagna. If you are vegan, this is a must must must! And if you are an Omni. This is a must must must🦋 I’m so glad there’s a beautiful option in Thousand Oaks

Busy breakfast spot - Edit
We went to JOi Café for breakfast on a weekday morning and it was vey busy, chaotic, and loud. The cafe could definitely use some more seating options.
Read moreThe food was good, not great. We didn’t love the superfood pancakes. They were a bit bland, dry and just had nothing that was really special about them. The lentil sausages were my favorite. They were super tasty and were cooked perfectly.
We ordered 2 cinnamon rolls from the bakery case and they were pretty hard. The waitress did heat them up for us, but they were still really hard to cut through.
I ordered the chai and was very disappointed. This is not your typical chai latte. This chai was the equivalent to eating a bag of black jellybeans and is a very acquired taste.
We felt like a lot of the items on the menu were a bit overpriced, especially for the size of the portions.
Overall we had an average experience but we are not in a hurry to go back.
Pros: All vegan, Big menu/lots of options
Cons: Pricey , Not enough seating, Loud and crowded

I thoroughly enjoyed my vegan breakfast and coffee. If my friend was to be asked, he would admit that too, even though he prefers omnivorous foods. Great veggies, the pancakes were dynomite, but the sausages were a little mealy.

WOW So good now - Edit
I used to live in Ventura County and initially had a rough experience years ago here (long story)....it's been years now and recently I was visiting Ventura and decided to try Joi again. WOW it's really changed and has so many choices and delicious, organic, and all gluten free...by far one of the best vegan restaurants! Their raw desserts made by EcoLicious have always been a fav so I was so glad to see they have that now too,
