Amazing service, delicious food

The service is really good and high-energy. I had a nice conversation with the owner and the food is absolutely delicious. I couldn't try the vegan option because they were out, but both the traditional and chocolate were incredible, creamy and crunchy in just the right amounts. Strongly recommend!

Soooooo good!

The best vegan pastel de nata I’ve ever had (I’ve never had a non-vegan one though lol). Literally melts in your mouth and so delicious! This corner of Chelsea market is WILD between this place, Seed Mill, and Very Fresh Noodles. In ONE corner!!

Amazing vegan pastéis de nata

I loved pastéis de nata in Portugal and was excited to try it in the US. This place does an amazing job with their vegan version.

Also visit its vegan neighbor Seed Mill while you’re here!

A nata in NYC 😀

On a NYC vegan social media site recently, people were asking if there is anywhere in Manhattan where one could get vegan natas (i.e., pastéis de nata, a type of Portuguese egg custard). The answer is here--you can get vegan natas at this place in Chelsea Market (though unfortunately, not at the other branches of Joey Bats in NYC).

You get your nata at the counter, then find a table in the large Chelsea Market food court. Definitely worth a try (though I feel the best dessert in Chelsea Market is still the tahini sundae at Seed & Mill).
