Delicious ramen and drinks!

It's ramen weather! 🍜 Got to try out the new JINYA Ramen Bar in Royal Oak.

We got the matcha lychee lemonade, vegan fire opal ramen, and impossible gyoza. The waitress let us know the tempura brussel sprouts were not vegan in their location and that the thin ramen noodles weren't vegan but ours come with the thick noodles that are vegan.

We unfortunately also didn't get to try the impossible tacos or classic impossible bao buns since they were out of guac. The manager did hook us up with a custon made bao bun for us using mushrooms as the topping instead.

I really liked the fire opal ramen I got😄Looking forward to coming back for the bao and that harvest rice bowl. The place did fill up fast when we left and we arrived close to opening.

Oh , snap! I love Jinya. I didn’t know there was one in Detroit. I’ll have to keep this in mind when I’m on that side of the state . 🙂

Vegan menu. Good ramen. Weird vibes.

Jinya has a vegan section of their menu with three different vegan ramen bowls, a rice bowl, impossible meat dumplings (not sure if vegan), and impossible meat bao buns (also not sure if vegan). They were out of the bao buns when we visited anyways.

I got the flying vegan harvest ramen (pictured) which was pretty tasty. I liked that there was a mix of impossible meat and tofu in the bowl to make it pretty filling. The noodles had a good bite to them and the broth was rich with a fair bit of spice.

The impossible meat didn’t hold up super well after being submerged in the broth for a while and kinda fell apart, but that wasn’t a dealbreaker for me.

Vibes there were a bit weird. Employees yelling some phrase in unison when each new guest is being seated as a greeting. The place was dolled up as if it was some upscale restaurant. Also a bit pricey. Not sure I loved it but the food was good.

Pros: Vegan menu, Tasty food, Mock meat items

Cons: Pricey, Vibes are weird, Out of menu items

In Japan it’s fairly common for the staff to kind of shout “Welcome”/ “Please come in”

It can be kind of distracting but it’s just a cultural thing.
