Great Market with Vegan Options - Edit
Loved this market when I was in downtown SD, they had multiple vegan options in their in-house bakery. I particularly liked their "coconut cream pie" made with tofu and brown rice syrup, with chocolate chips (not like a traditional coconut cream pie, but tasty), but they also had vegan muffins, cookies, and a pumpkin bar. The rest of the market also has a hot bar, prepared deli section, chocolates, and energy bars all with vegan options.

Great store in an empty mall - Edit
Horton Plaza is pretty much empty at this point but thankfully this store still stands. I liked the wide selection of products and was impressed with how clean and tidy everything was, which made for an inviting shopping atmosphere. The food at the salad bar was as good as it could get when it comes to prepared food. Definitely worth checking out if you’re staying in the area.

Nice vegan options in deli - Edit
Lots of well-marked vegan options in the deli area. I recommend the tofu spring rolls and the chickpea no-tuna salad. They sell Uncle Eddie’s Vegan cookies, too!

Good Store/Needs More Vegan Dressing - Edit
This centrally located Jimbo's has a solid assortment of vegan products, but I feel the salad bar could use far more selections of vegan salad dressings. You can also find plenty of organic produce here.

great inexpensive prepared foods - Edit
I came to SD for a work conference. This place is a nice walk from the convention center. I got vegan pre-packaged deli food. The spring rolls are SO GOOD. I thought all the deli food was reasonably priced. So much better than spending a fortune at the restaurants. My only problem was the map has it in a misleading place. It's very close to 1st and not 3rd, and it's a little bit inside the shopping center.

Lots of vegan options - Edit
This is a great grocery store, but I'm limiting this review to the deli. Actually, I should say I'm limiting it to one specific sandwich at the deli. The Lone Star is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I've recommended it to carnivore friends and they all agree that it is awesome. There is not a Jimbo's in the SF Bay Area, so when I go to San Diego, I get this sandwich every time. Seriously, make an effort to get the sandwich.

I went into Jimbo's for the first time today and I was ridiculously excited when I found the raw/ vegan chocolate (sweets) section! They also have a lot of products that you can find at the farmers markers (ex: PeacePies and Evolution Fast Food)

The Best! - Edit
Jimbo's is my favorite grocery. I've been going to the one in Del Mar for 14 years and occasion other groceries, but I always return to Jimbo's because it is so well rounded and has good prepared food and deli as well. My son got so hooked (in a good a vibrant way) on their "stuffed very veggie" sandwich that I make them at home for his lunches three times a week (using "THEIR" herbed veganase and "THEIR" locally made multigrain bread) and the other two days he gets their house-made burritos. Never a complaint from mother or son! I can always tell when he eats lots of sprouts and I load the homegrown ones on too. We've been doing these school lunches for the last four years.
