Tasty food - Edit

They offer some buffet and no menue. Food was tasty but there was no communication - so it was not clear if it is vegan or vegetarian. But friendly stuff. Small portions but it was very unexpensive.

Tasty and central - Edit

Really nice, local place. As other reviewer says, location is where 2nd listing says (just off Naresuan Road). Selection of veg, tofu, and mock meat dishes as well as snacks etc. for takeaway. Reasonable prices and free drinking water.

Classic Thai vegan restaurant - Edit

These kinds of restaurants can be found in pretty much any major Thai city-- many pre-cooked vegan Thai entrees, lots of delicious faux meat, and super cheap prices. I tried four dishes with rice for 50 baht, which was infinitely more satisfying than getting one of the veggie options at one of the regular restaurants around Ayuthaya, as well as a few vegan sausage balls for 10 baht. All the food was incredibly rich and delicious and I left full and happy

One note- I tried going there three times (it's a three minute walk from my hostel), and they were only open one of those times-- so have a backup plan if it happens to be closed.

Pros: delicious, cheap, many options

Cons: not always open during normal hours

Lunch & noodle soup - Edit

Typical Thai vegan (je) place with lots of choices of food on rice & noodle soups. Had a very good " yen ta fo" noodle soup but there's the choice of regular noodle soup as well as "guay jap". Good for stocking up on instant noodles, curry paste and condiments. Take away food in bags for 30 THB.

Not convinced it was vegan - Edit

I forgot my vegan passport that day and the owner spoke very little English, I ordered from the tiny selection and couldn't eat much of it because it really resembled egg (although I think she might have said it wasn't, I really wasn't 100% sure)

Delicious, easy, cheap! - Edit

We're not especially strict veggies but it was a welcome change to be able to eat everything. We tried 7 dishes between us - all excellent. We identified red curry and phad Thai, all the others were new. The highlight was some sweet crunchy stuff in a savoury sauce, looked a bit like very small popcorn. We also too two of the takeaway bags, and drank a bottle of water, all for 140 baht. Many thanks for posting a photo of the sign as it made it easy to find!!

Pros: vegan, tasty, cheap

Cons: closes early

A simple eatery - Edit

It's a very simple eatery run by frindly people. There where a few precooked dishes to chose from but they prepared more. The teast was ok but not really good. The whole place looked not so clean and a bit messy.

Pros: on the main road hear, frindly, cheap

Cons: not so teasty, not so clean

good fresh tasty food - perfect for picnics/travel - Edit

Great find in Ayutthaya! Take a picnic while cycling around Ayutthaya, or food for the train to Bangkok/ Sukhothai!

The map for this listing is accurate - thank you to whoever added that!

The lady is friendly and speaks limited English, but is helpful in pointing out ingredients, flavours and spice level.

There is a large sign now mentioning it closes at 15:00, I went back at 14:00 and she had already left. (the next day she explained she had to leave early). My advice: plan ahead :)

Food looked appealing, in a clean environment and very tasty. What a relief to have good hot tasty food with no meat around.

I also took with me FOUR little containers containing vegetables, rice, a bag of curry, and a bag of mini spring rolls - which came to 110 baht. the food lasted for the journey to Sukhothai and even for the next lunchtime (Sukhothai has no vegetarian or vegan eateries, it seems).

It is centrally located, near the little bridge and is easily recognisable by the yellow flag and a sign saying 'vegetarian'. Well recommended.

Pros: fresh, tasty, many options, inexpensive, take away options for travel

Cons: closes between 14:00 - 15:00

Everything Is Delicious - Edit

This is a small buffet style restaurant. The food consists mostly curry dishes served over rice. I tried a variety of their dishes. Everything was delicious. A meal may cost around 30 - 40 baht... unless you get seconds! :)

Pros: Delicious, Cheap, Clean

Cons: Server doesn't speak English

Cheap and Vegan - Edit

Very nice, a large selection of ready to go food, it's a jai place so it's vegan, the food I had was nice, there's the option to add spice if you desire, it's cheap, it's on a main road close to the 'Farang Street' area so close to the main hotel bit. There are many take away items such as snacks, packaged meals and the little meals in a can. These tinned foods are great, there's seitan (wheat gluten vegey duck_ in a green or red curry, soy 'fish', soy something else, they're great for carrying around, I put them in the microwave for 25 seconds and have them with rice, or you can eat cold out of the can.

Pros: Easy to find, Take away snacks, Cheap

Veg haven in Ayutthaya - Edit

On the road next to the canal, can be found by yellow flag hanging outside. Closes early so go and get takeout for dinner.
Weren't always sure the name of what we were eating but the food tasted great. We had a paper describing vegan restrictions in Thai and we seemed assured that what we were given was vegan.
The food was soooo inexpensive-- the least amount of money I paid for food in Thailand. Maybe 20-30 baht per plate.
The man behind the counter was very friendly but I warn you that he didnt seem to speak English.

Pros: Inexpensive & delish, Takeout option, Friendly

Cons: Closes early

Nice Typical 'Jair' Eatery - Edit

The ususal selection of bain marie dishes on rice (only white unfortunately), quay teow soup, and no doubt other dishes to which that one would be privy if one spoke Thai! Relatively cheap - around 30B per dish - and undoubtedly cheaper the more 'local' one becomes. I went on a Sunday, and it was still open in the late afternoon.
Updated from previous review on Sunday September 30, 2012

Pros: Close to 'farang' area, Tasty, Friendly

Cons: Need to speak Thai to order a'la carte, not open for dinner

Charming Vegan Eatery - Edit

This is a charming little vegan eatery a few minutes walk from the (backpacker/tourist) centre of Ayuthaya. It's a typical Jeh (vegan, no garlic, onion etc) buffet style restaurant, with take-out available. Like most Jeh restaurants of its type, it opens early (~6AM) and closes around 2PM, so I got take-outs and carried them around for dinner, so ate here several times during my two days in Ayuthaya. It also sells small cans of Thai food which are useful to carry for emergencies :) Staff are friendly and some speak a tiny bit of English, though it wouldn't matter if they didn't. The directions were easy to follow and though small, it's easy to find.

Pros: vegan, cheap, take-out available

Cons: closes at 2PM
