Authentic Thai Veg

Typical Thai vegetarian (Jay) "cheap eats" restaurant. Tasty, authentic Thai cuisine. Cosy, open air with fans (no Air-Con but comfortable enough). Lovely staff and chef with limited English, though enough if one doesn't speak Thai.

If no Thai language skills, just point out the items from the quick dish-up buffet. Can also order from the menu, which means pointing at the pics/descriptions on the wall. The chef will also accommodate requests, if possible.

Pros: Vegan, Brown or white rice , Inexpensive

Cons: No Air-Con, but comfy enough , Very limited seating

Cute and cosy, hearty bowl of noodles

My hubby and I came here for a late breakfast/early lunch and though nobody spoke English, the lovely lady knew what to give us. We bought two steaming hot LARGE bowls of noodle soup and they were delicious!! It came with a big plate of fresh vegetables that you put inside your noodle soup, and we also bought a bag of the delicious looking pastries, which were amazing! So cheap and so incredibly delicious. We were so full after the bowl of noodles, we could barely eat the pastries afterwards. Everything we ate was vegan, the snacks and bulk foods they sell are great to buy if you're staying in Udon Thani for longer and have access to cooking stoves, the pink decor was super cute, and the people there were very friendly. Cheap, cheerful, tasty, worth it.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cheap, Tasty

Clean, delicious food

The owner is lovely! Although no one seems to speak English. No problem though, the owner brings out her Google Translate! Anyway, everything is vegan so it is only a matter of spicy? Or no spicy? Lol. Enjoy!

Pros: Clean food and place Homemade with love

Wonderful!

We picked this restaurant from the list found in Happy Cow for Udon Thani. We only crossed the border into Thailand for lunch here, as our vacation schedule only included Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos for overnights. We had a private driver (rather than the bus), and researched the map diligently to locate this place, but it was still very difficult to find. If you can get to the high school, you can find it across the street. The food was very good - lots and lots of choices, and all of it vegan! The owners and staff are very warm and friendly! We highly recommend this vegan gem of a restaurant!

Pros: Friendly people, Friendly people, Friendly people

Cons: May be hard to find-find the high school., May be hard to find-find the high school., May be hard to find-find the high school.

cheap basic Thai vegan restaurant

this restaurant/cafe is a basic, cheap, Thai style vegan restaurant ... you can have a choice of two dishes with rice for ฿35 ... there is also mock meat (sausage and balls) on wood skewers for sale ... the food is cooked out the back and displayed in a bain marie at the front of the restaurant ... as the food in basic Thai restaurants is not kept heated after a while it is served at room temperature ... there are packaged and cold vegan food for sale ... staff speak English and were friendly (speaking a little bit of Thai always helps)

Pros: cheap authentic Thai food

Subpar

Substandard food with bad service and special foreigner prices. Wouldn't bother eating here again.

Cons: Small, unappetising meals, bland soups, overcharging

Prajna Paramita, good heart with good food.

I found most of Jay (vegetarian) restaurant in Thailand are using MSG and mock meat. All the owners of these restaurants are very nice people but if we want to eat healthy food, we need to get rid of mock meat and MSG asap.

Pros: nice people

Cons: parking very hard

Delicious

Buffet style restaurant. Maybe six or so curries and a bunch of sides. The deep fried parties were super yum. The curries tasted authentic and fresh. Friendly staff. I would definitely eat here again if only I were in Udon longer.

Cozy atmosphere makes it a special place.

Overall the Jay food here is okay and nice to eat, no complaints. Thanks to the wooden tables and the cook/owner who radiates happiness and obviously loves to cook Jay food, this is a nice place to relax and have a vegan meal.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, Okay food

Cons: limited buffet options (5 options)
