*Chai process changed😒The standard to which I hold all other Chai lattes.

Edit: My last couple trips here have been disappointing.. they now make large batches of their two chai varieties, and while they went out of their way to make it for me the slow way so I could have it without honey, it just didn’t taste the same at all. If I had to guess, I’d say newer staff doesn’t really know the old way, but I’m not really sure what’s going on. All I know is this used to be my absolute favorite, and the last two I’ve had have not tasted anything like it used to.

I can’t come to Rochester without getting a Java’s Chai. No mixes here, they brew the spices and tea right there while you wait! There’s two varieties and both are equally magnificent. They have different plant milk options but I prefer it with almond. Theres a great selection of other teas and coffees and I’m sure they’re delicious but I always stick with my chai. The vegan baked goods and desserts are always great too. Definitely cool place to hang out.

Coffee shop with hefty “vegan tax”

Located right next to Eastman School of Music, this is a large coffee place with plenty of seating and funky artwork on the walls. It is counter-serve, they offer a few vegan pastries and at meal time some sandwiches. I didn't think the coffee was that good--the coffee at Ugly Duck a bunch of blocks away is much better, but this place is larger, more conveniently located, and does have some light vegan fare to go with your coffee. Unfortunately, they now charge a hefty surcharge for plant milk.

Good coffee, good muffins

Great place to come and hang out and have some good coffee! I love coming here with my friends because they have something for all of us, plus their vegan blueberry muffins are awesome.
