Serves meat, vegan options available. Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine with daily buffet. Has vegetable-based dishes. Could ask to make something veg or vegan. Reported closed May 2019.
I would have given this restaurant 5 stars but on Happy Cow 5 stars are reserved for fully vegan restaurants. The staff and owner truly understood what vegan meant and went out of their way to be sure everything was not only vegan but that we were STUFFED! The oolong tea was wonderful! We had the Gado Gado as our main course, oh my! We shared deep fried seaweed stuffed with spicy rice and stuffed deep fried tofu as appetizers with homemade chili sauce. The appetizers were amazing! If that wasn’t enough, they gave us miso soup and fresh fruit. Topped us off with sweet sesame balls and then they spent some time socializing with us. I would 100% recommend Java Warung to my fellow vegans!
Delightfully bringing the exotic to the mid west - Edit
Very nice restaurant serving traditional cuisine from Indonesia and Malayasia. Many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free dishes. Most entrees can be made vegetarian. Welcoming atmosphere and staff. Food has been wonderful every time we've eaten here. Homemade tempeh is outstanding. Eating Gado gado and enjoying the gamelan music!
