Excellent experience

A visit to the Jaunty Goat proved to be well worth the drive over from Liverpool.

The restaurant has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the decor is tasteful. The restaurant was fairly empty when we visited and the manager took the time to chat to us.

My wife and I had the soup and bread as starters; both were delicious. We then had the Plant Burger with chips. I had a black coffee and my wife had jasmine tea.

All-in-all, a really enjoyable experience.

Pros: Very tasty food, Friendly atmosphere

Great little coffee shop brunch place.

Really tasty food. Decent portions. Just veering towards the pricey end, but worth it for a treat.
Very friendly and efficient staff.

I’ve eaten in here a few times, really good food, and great coffee! The staff have always been really friendly and helpful too. I recommend the full English and the burger.

Pros: Completely vegan, Nice staff, Great food

Cons: Quite pricey

Pleasant

A pleasant place. I will however not be going again. I refuse to be told I can only pay by card. ( I do not support a cashless society- that will inevitably cause serious harm) I understand the notes have animal products in but the coins don't. I think it's illegal to not accept legal tender. I urge you all to not support this. Take your coins and support this restaurant but don't pay by card.

Pros: Pleasant and comfortable

Cons: Promoting a cashless society.

Never disappoints

It's nice to just go somewhere and be able to pick whatever you want! Food is great and the coffee is awesome, their oatmilk flat whites are top notch.

Delicious breakfast!

We went here for breakfast and it was amazing! I had the pancakes with coconut cream, plums and rhubarb compote whilst the other half had a full English. It is a bit pricey but the portions were a good size and as I said it was delicious!

Pros: Yummy food, Extremely friendly staff

Cons: Only take card payment

Food stops 2 hours before closing

Went to Chester for the day and was wanting to try out the new vegan jaunty goat. Got there at 4:30 to find they stop serving food at 4pm. 2 hours before closing. A lot of vegan places do this and I've never had this experience in any other establishments. I find it absolutely bizarre. Won't be returning as I wasted so much time going here to be told they don't even serve food for the last 2 hours! The food might be great but I don't know. There's no mention of this anywhere either and I don't think anyone would expect a cafe to stop serving so early.
Was going to rate 1 star but sadly the app believes a place just being vegan is worthy of an extra star!

Pros: No idea

Cons: Kitchen closes too early

New Favourite Place!

What a wonderful place! I went in for the first time with my husband this afternoon, and it was fantastic. Lots of options on the menu, and the place was clean, trendy, and very inviting. The staff were also super friendly and fun to talk to. I will be back again soon.

Gorgeous coffee shop

Amazing little coffee shop that feels welcoming and friendly. Made it my regular coffee stop as it’s the best coffee I’ve found in Chester and the hash browns are to die for! Some gluten free options including the poké bowl and most of the sides. Also do cakes and flapjacks

Well Tasty!

Great service and great food! Always enjoy a totally vegan cafe or restaurant as the menu is so much more varied than omni or veggie places.

This proved to be true today, though three of my party of four all had the same dish: Ricotta & Pea Ravioli with Asparagus Spears. The ‘other’ among us had the chicken n bacon sandwich.

Both meals were very tasty and nicely presented.

Only slight criticism would be that the bowls used for the ravioli were a little cool, thus making the food a little cooler in parts. Otherwise fab.

Followed up the mains with lemon and poppy seed cake and choc chip cookies. The cake was very moist and fruity while the cookies were nice and doughy.

All washed down with beautifully served tea.

Nice treat on a Monday afternoon visit to Chester. Would recommend.

Pros: Modern interior, Helpful staff, Excellent menu choices

Just by the walls!

Lovely place to eat with fabulous staff. Excellent coffee. Breakfast is a must, as well as mid morning and mid afternoon cake and tea. This is a place that knows good food and drink should take time to be done properly. We loved it and will be back.

Pros: 100% plant based, Knowledgeable staff

Cons: Card only. No issue to us but something to note.

A must when visiting Chester!

An awesome little cafe, fairly hipster but not pretentious like some other places. Staff super friendly and happy to chat about other places to visit and eat in Chester if looking for dinner. The food was really tasty and the biscoff loaf was delicious. Need to go back to try their other cakes. Also the menus are seasonal or try their hardest to be so the food is fresh and tasty. Their own blend of coffee is really nice and smooth

Pros: All vegan, Great selection, Super friendly staff

Cons: A little small, May have to wait for a seat

Just what Chester needed

Found this place on Happy Cow today whilst in Chester for a meeting. Chester has been a vegan black hole for too long, with nowhere to get decent vegan food.

Food was incredible, service was fantastic and the place seems to have been kitted out really, really well. Hope its a great success

Pros: Excellent menu choices , Fantastic interior , Wonderful service
