Lovely hotel and restaurant - Edit
Stayed at this hotel which has an all vegetarian breakfast.
Read moreThe breakfast is good, there were different vegan options each morning, sometimes cake, sometimes savoury.
It is a very small hotel and restaurant, 9 rooms and I think 14 covers in the restaurant.
Remember to book, we saw 3 lots of people turned away when we were in the bar. They only have the chef and one waitress.
Had tortilla starter (quite filling) and mushrooms, for main course we had wellington and tofish.
All the food is beautifully presented.
Thanks for a memorable meal.

Ich hätte gerne nur einen Stern gegeben. Das Risotto war geschmacklos und deshalb ungenießbar. Die junge Servicedame hat mir wortlos Salz und Pfefferstreuer gebracht. Auch mit damit wurde es nicht besser. Es wurde kein Alternativgericht angeboten und das Risotto musste ich bezahlen, obwohl ich nur 2 mal davon gekostet hatte.

What an amazing place! We asked for a table in the courtyard, and it was so peaceful and relaxing.
Read moreWe went for lunch, so we chose the lunch menu. We started with some delicious bread, olives, a (tiny, though!) nut pâté, and olive oil.
My partner had the grilled mushrooms with garlic and pepper sauce – absolutely amazing! I went for the beetroot carpaccio, which was also very tasty, although his starter was definitely the winner.
For the main course, I think I picked the best dish of the day: the mushroom risotto. My partner had the feijoada with wild rice, which was also really good.
To finish, we had the apple crumble, and once again, it was excellent!
Definitely worth a visit if you're in Porto. A full lunch menu for only €19 per person!

Okay we stayed here for the vegan restaurant and included breakfast. Let’s gets the vegan breakfast out of the way which is only offered to hotel guest. It’s not vegan but vegetarian and if you don’t eat eggs you got yogurt bread and jam. Far less than expected from a place of this caliber.
Read moreDinner staff- the bar manager had an amazing personality and was running everything with a great attitude. Everyone else had far from a kind or approachable demeanor. The tofu plate was good 4/5. The soup was maybe a 3/5. The desserts we ordered we waited over 30 min for while we watched the cooks and a lady in street clothes gossip. I had to get up and ask the bar manager to send it to our room when she came back with us and grabbed our desserts for us which were just ok.
The next day we attempted to get a late bite at around 9 and the hotel host said we couldn’t because there was a wedding earlier and they close at 9:30.
We had better food and service elsewhere in Porto but the hotel was beautiful.

Perfectly Delicious Experience - Edit
This place is incredible. I have been vegan nearly 7 years and tried a lot of different vegan restaurants, this is potentially my favourite because the place is beautiful, just as the food and the staff are the kindest, most attentive and charming I have ever met. I love this place so much, cannot recommend it enough! I've taken family and my partner and everyone has loved it 😊

Wonderful food and service - Edit
Such a treat! We were staying at the linked hotel Jardins do Porto, so enjoyed 4 lovely dinners here. My favourite was the tofish! Lovely kind waitress looked after us really well. My husband needs gluten free food and he was well catered for. He was also able to enjoy the tofish, which was a real treat. Highly recommended.

We stumbled on this beautiful place and adored it - particular highlights were the tofish which we’ve not had anything like (perhaps because in English it tends to be battered like fish n chips, where this was lovely and simple) and the risotto which was somehow one of the euphoricest we’ve ever had. But more than anything, the waitress was one of the most welcoming and friendly people and made the whole experience joyful, fun and memorable.

My risotto was garnished with crispy, fried capers! They looked liked little blossoms. And strips of beetroot and pansies. The starter soup was also delicious. Portions were generous. Service was delightful. Ambience was gorgeous. Refined and cozy at the same time.

I love to try vegan places in different cities. From small shops to more fancy places. But what I don’t like is when it’s an arrogant atmosphere.
Read moreThe dishes are very pricey and portions are small. I must say the food tasted really good. Unfortunately one of our group had already cold food which shows lack of preparation for dishes such as heating plates beforehand.
When we ordered a drink and a main, the lady seemed irritated & annoyed , that we did not want alcohol or a starter and almost forced us to eat some starter. The whole meal we felt watched from the kitchen, the owner & the waitresses.
Overall we would not come back here due to that unpleasant experience

Delicious vegan date night - Edit
Lovely for a date night or a special meal in Porto. Varied menu with both local and international dishes - lovely to have a vegan version of ‘cod’ which is on many menus in the region. Incredible flavours - can highly recommend the tortilla wrap starter and the baked fish. Super tasty! The ‘chocolate garden’ dessert wasn’t as special as expected - just a brownie with some chocolate mousse, but still a nice way to end the meal. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Good value for money too!

I hate giving vegan restaurants, bad reviews - Edit
Where to start with this one. We walked in and the restaurant was very musty and damp smelling, and it went downhill from there. They handed us a cocktail menu, but wasn’t able to make any cocktails. The food was at best bland and at worst inedible. We ordered 4 dishes, none of which were accurately described in the menu. I got the tortilla which was stuffed with seitan despite that not being mentioned in the description. I personally don’t like seitan and wouldn’t have ordered it. it had very little flavor. My husband ordered the carrot tartare, which was terrible and tasted strongly of wasabi despite that also not being mentioned on the menu. For mains, he got the wellington which was ok, and I got the stew, which was bland and clearly made with sad canned beans and tomato paste. I hate giving bad reviews, but I have to be honest here. Vegan food can be amazing but places like this bring the reputation down.

My family and I really enjoyed eating here; we had three different main courses -- a seitan escalope, "toffish" and a vegan feijoada. All of which were objectively excellent, beautifully presented and really tasty. There is a clear focus on providing a high quality restaurant experience at very reasonable prices in a venue in which it just so happens that all of the food is vegan. Why aren't there more places like this?
