5 star experience - Edit
Intimate setting for a nice dinner! We tried some of the specialty cocktails, they were delicious. The mains were scrumptious, but the brownie a la mode was truly special. I highly recommend if you're looking for an elevated experience!

Simply the best! - Edit
My husband and I have been eating a whole food plant based diet for 3 years now and Jardin, hands down has been the best vegan dining experience we have had since changing our diet. Our only complaint is that we don’t live in Madison and it’s a long way from our home in TX. The two of us enjoyed our food so much, we took a few vegetarians and non vegetarians back the next week and all raved about the experience. The menu changed in the 10 days between our visits and our server told us that the menu changes on a frequent basis.
Read moreI’m not sure if that makes me sad or happy! I believe the lobster pasta and blackened tofu may be consistent menu staples and the pasta was a repeat favorite on our second visit. I hope this establishment survives but the number of patrons was sparse on both the Tuesday and then Thursday night we were there. Service is what we like to consider as “Island time” which is slow paced and friendly. Can’t wait until our travels take us back to Madison so we can visit again.

Excellent dishes with a passionate chef - Edit
Took 8 friends and family there for my birthday and everyone enjoyed their food. My sister tried some of my mushrooms and now she's open to trying more kinds after thinking she hated them her whole life. Worth the price for special occasions or if you can afford it.

Overrated - Edit
The ambiance and interior of this restaurant was beautiful! We made reservations for 2 for a nice dinner and the intimate setting was nice. It was not so great when they sat two people right next to us when the room had many empty tables and booths. We do not enjoy hearing another couple’s conversation the whole time.
Read moreAs for the food, very overrated. It is nice that it is an all vegan restaurant, but we both left feeling hungry, even after having an appetizer as well. The food felt very overpriced.

Decent and surprising for WI. - Edit
I came here spur of the moment as I randomly found myself in Madison for the first time since 2005.
Read more-I had two ginger mocktails and it might have been one of my favorite NA drinks in a restaurant.
⭐️ just for that.
-The “lobster” pasta dish was my favorite.
⭐️ for that.
-The tacos were mediocre, messy, and I didn’t like the jus that came with it. I wouldn’t reorder.
-The corn appetizer was also tasty but nothing amazing. I’d probably reorder it. -The dessert had potential but missed the mark. It was a cookie in a skillet but it had like tiny berries on it making the whole thing more cobbler or duff like and not like chocolate chip cookie. BJ’s pizookie it was not even though it had most of the same elements. I’ll take a star for that.
-There was also construction going on next door so seeing this taller building’s innards kinda ruined the courtyard experience. I’ll take a star for that.
-The service was also kinda slow. I kinda felt like they forgot about me once or twice (I was alone) But when I got service it was excellent!
They also offered an after dinner digestif. The only NA option was lemoncello and I was not a fan.
Pros: Fine dining, Mocktails, Great entree
Cons: Construction (2023), Dessert fail, Expensive

Awesome! - Edit
Love having a fully vegan restaurant in Madison! Even better that the food is delish and the patio is lovely. The drinks were amazing- great NA mojito and hibiscus tea. The flatbread was a hit even for the non- mushroom lovers in our group. The hummus plate bread was the BEST bread according to my daughter :). Risotto was creamy and delicious. We will definitely be back!

Came from out of town just for this place. So many amazing dish concepts that were…okay in practice. The lobster casarecce was the best by far. I haven’t had noodles like that since going vegan. They reminded me of egg noodles…delicious. My husband got the risotto, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The focaccia app was also great. The quesaburria, flatbread, and trail cookie were all amazing in concept but not as delicious as we hoped. From the website, we anticipated this to be more high-end than it was. We went when it was around 29 degrees Fahrenheit outside, and it was FREEZING in the restaurant. They had space heaters, but they didn’t help much. Our waiter was fantastic, but they were very clearly understaffed (surprising because it sounded like most people had reservations). Don’t want to rag too much on a completely vegan place because we need more, but would be lying if we said we weren’t a little disappointed.

Jardin is hands down the best plant-based restaurant in Madison. My husband and I had the Lemon & Kalamata Focaccia, Chickpea Paneer, Three Sisters, and Lobster Cacarecce. I would get all of these items again, but there's so many other items I want to try first -- starting with the desserts!

The food here was excellent. This place is on the fancier side, so dress accordingly. The wait staff was great as was the food.
Read moreI highly recommend the Yuba Salad, Gazpacho, and quesabirria. We also got the lobster pasta entree - it wasn’t for me, but if you like fishier food you may like it.
They also had a fully vegan bar which is very neat. We got complimentary lemoncello, which was a very nice touch.
Be sure to book a reservation ahead of time.

Best Vegan Food in Madison - Edit
I have been getting sick of most vegan/vegetarian places focusing on burgers and similar foods. Jardin is very different in that their food is mostly made form fresh ingredients (as the name suggests). And it still tastes great!

The revamp to Jardin does what Strange Town wishes it could do. This experience cannot be found anywhere else in Wisconsin. Have an anniversary or special occasion to celebrate and need a place to be? This is the one.

small menu with big flavors - Edit
i actually was found this place on yelp when was looking for dinner in madison, and came into the experience with no prior expectations besides being pleased with the atmospheric outdoor seating!
Read morewe started off with the salade du jardin and the patatas azules. the salad had a great dressing, and i think all the ingredients really complimented each other and made for a really elevated salad. the potatoes were crispy on the outside and were super flavorful; the toppings added a nice kick without taking away from the potatoes themselves.
next we tried the chickpea curry and lobster casarecce. the chickpea curry was amazing! the presentation was lovely by itself, but the curry itself was packed with contrasting flavors and textures that, in the end, came together to make a warm and spicy dish. the lobster casarecce was also very good, and i found that the sauce was flavorful and comforting. both of these dishes felt very well thought out flavor and texture wise.
for dessert i ordered the cast iron trail cookie. it wasn't particularly impressive compared to the previous dishes; however, i found that it was a warm and tasty end to my experience and i would still order it again. the cookie came out warm and the banana ice cream provided a cooling contrast.
overall, the menu is pretty small, but whoever came up with it seems to have a wide knowledge of flavors, textures, and how they come together to make delicious food. i would definitely come back!
Pros: packed with flavor, small menu with solid options, 100% vegan
