Added Japanese fermented seasoning Koji (malted rice) used is local Japanese vegetable & fermented seasoning inspired by Buddhist cuisine, macrobiotic and also Shinto spirit. Seaweed, beans, tofu, vegetables. An important element for food is Umami. Inquiries via official website. Reservations are accepted until 10am on the same day. Incredible!

6 courses in a private meal with the chef. What more could you ask for? Definitely for someone who is up to try anything and everything plant based and who is curious about Japanese culture.

Great vegan dinner

We were a family of 6 with a 8 years old child. Tammy welcomed us very friendly. The dishes were so delicious and in so many nice small plates. The sake was really good. Tammy had also prepared some funny small games which my grandson enjoyed. Thé restaurant is small and cosy. We really had a great evening.

So much more than a meal!

This was one of my favorite dining experiences ever! It is in a sweet space and intimate setting. Tammy and her mother are so sweet and kind. Tammy is an incredibly talented and creative chef! She cultivated a dining experience based on the 5 senses which she expertly planned. Every bite is new and delicious and complex. The sake is unique and paired well. Do yourself a favor and book this dining experience for good people who love food!

Amazing experience with great food

We had a great time at the restaurant. We were the only ones there at that evening (reservation mandatory on previous day) so we had amazing interaction with the chef who's cooking right front of you. The experiences between the courses were fun, entertaining and insightful into the Japanese eating culture. Absolutely worth the price!
If you have trouble finding it, it's on the second floor on the left hand side

Pros: Beautiful Cultural experience, Great food, Amazing host

An Absolute Must-Visit for Vegans (and Everyone!) in Osaka: ODORU

If you're looking for an incredible all-vegan experience in Osaka, stop scrolling and book a table at ODORU. Tamie, the chef, is truly amazing, and what she's created here is something incredibly special. I went in solo, and it genuinely felt like being welcomed into a friend's home. Tamie's warmth and enthusiasm made the whole evening feel incredibly personal and memorable.
The concept here is a fermentation-heavy tasting menu, and every single dish is a plant-based adventure. This approach is truly unique and impressive. Each flavor changed dynamically throughout the meal, making the entire experience absolutely delightful.
Let's talk about the natto! As a Westerner who's been a little iffy on it, Tamie completely transformed it. She perfectly balanced its raw intensity with other flavors, creating a genuinely enjoyable and perfect introduction. And her vegan dashi for the miso soup? Absolutely nailed it! I also loved the tart sprouted grain sake she served; it was unlike anything I'd ever tasted, in the best way.
What makes Tamie so special is her dedication and how on-point she is with her vegan menu. She's clearly passionate about what she does and super knowledgeable. She genuinely cares about her guests and her art, and it shines through in every detail. As a stranger, I left feeling so invested in her success because the experience was just that impactful.

I'm honored that you have recognized and sensed the appeal of ODORU. I've put together a lot of the cuisine with people coming to Japan for the first time and trying Japanese food for the first time in mind.

Cozy, Authentic Vegan Japanese – Made with Love!

This tiny fully vegan Japanese degustation bar / restaurant is a true gem 🫰

Every dish was packed with authentic flavor and made with so much love and care. The chef is amazing — warm, passionate, and excited to share how she creates traditional Japanese dishes in a completely vegan way. Sitting at her cozy bar felt more like being a guest in her home than in a restaurant.

Even if you’re not vegan, you won’t miss a thing — the food is that good. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience Japanese food!
