Jamerica

My husband and I ate at Jamerica for lunch while visiting Madison. It's located on Willy Street, and is nothing fancy, but the service is friendly and it has a comfortable atmosphere. The vegetarian options on the lunch menu were jerk tofu, bbq tofu, and mango rundown tofu, all served with veggies and red beans and rice.
I had the jerk tofu which was pretty good. It was a lot of food, and had a pretty good flavor. The house made hot sauce was tasty as well. My husband tried the mango run down tofu which was less good. It didn't taste at all of mango, just like tofu and veggies drenched in coconut milk, plus there was not very much tofu. It was okay, but not great.
They have a nice selection of drinks including beer, ginger beer, Izzy drinks, and Ting grapefruit soda.

Decent food. The barbecue tofu is good, as is the Mango Rundown with Tofu. Very big portions. The spiced tea is delicious.

I went here expecting very little, but was tired of my same spots. Very big plates, the jerk tofu is rather spicy. The best part was probably the serve yourself beer fridge which had 32oz Coronas. There was a bit too much tofu, but from looking at someone elses plate it matched the jerk pork they ordered. HUGE portions, we split an order.
