Super yummers - Edit
The vegan nasi lemak has 3 delicious side dishes (besides the usual sambal, kacang, cucumber, mushroom bilis and rice) and the vegan chocolate mousse had a lovely flavour.

Nice vibes - Edit
Jama KL is a great place to spend an evening of people watching and grabbing a nice meal. We have tried the vegan gnocchi, vegan burger and vegetarian curry (minus the egg) all dishes were great and I’d definitely eat again.

Delicious Nasi Lemak but expensive vegan sandwich - Edit
Vegetarian options are clearly marked. There are also some vegan items marked on the menu as well.
Read moreActually, I wanted to have a salad so I asked if the Vegetarian Tempe Ulam Salad could be veganised?
This is what was listed on the menu:
🥗Tempe Ulam Salad
Chopped ulam, tempe, cauliflower rice, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, shallots, fried anchovies, ginger torch flower and ginger chilli vinaigrette
RM 28
They said they would check and they came back saying that they use soy sauce in the dressing and that contains lacto which is dairy so it’s not vegan.
I thought that was a bit strange because as far as I know, soy sauce is vegan and doesn’t contain lacto. It’s usually not gluten-free though due to the wheat.
So I asked if they could just omit the dressing as I’m happy to eat my salad undressed.
He went to check again and this time, he said that the tempe has dairy.
I said I doubt it as I teach how to make tempe from scratch and there’s never dairy in tempe.
He looked like he didn’t believe me and didn’t want to take my Tempe Ulam Salad and suggested the vegan gnocchi instead.
The server might have been confused about what vegan was as he asked whether we eat nuts… 😅
Anyway, since I was super hungry, wanted to play it safe and didn’t wanna further explain that tempeh is vegan, we went with these instead:
🌱Vegan Nasi Lemak
Coconut pandan rice, jackfruit curry, tofu sambal, mushroom rendang, sambal, vegan anchovy, roasted peanuts.
You also have the option to change to Konjac Rice RM5 (Low carb, low calorie, high fiber rice substitute)
RM 28
🌱Vegan Pumpkin Sandwich
Crusty ciabatta, roasted pumpkin, peppers, charred zucchini, ulam and onion jam.
RM 38
I LOVED the Vegan Nasi Lemak. The jackfruit curry, tofu sambal, mushroom rendang and sambal tasted soooooo good! 💚💚💚
The sandwich was nice but for that price, I’d rather have the vegan nasi lemak.
Other vegan options on the menu include:
✅Vegan Cheese Burger
✅Vegan Gnocchi
Pros: Vegan options are clearly marked, Nice ambience
Cons: Refusal to veganise vegetarian dishes, Expensive sandwich
