Typical Thai 'jair' restaurant serving vegan buffet and noodle soups. Located on Umpur/Amphur Road near the corner of Pho Si Road. Travelling along Pho Si from the intersection (roundabout), turn left into Umpur: look for the yellow flags with Thai writing. Open Mon-Sun 6:30am-7:00pm.

While not the best food I've ever had, the owners went out of their way to try to accommodate us (even if we did have to ask for the customary accompaniment of greens to go with our soup). Would try their rice dishes if I were staying in Udon Thani.
Pros: generous service, okay food, open till 7pm, close to train and bus stations
Cons: not overwhelmingly palatable
