So, the choice I have made

A meal fit for for a former world squash champion of the same name. An impressive interior and menu. Everything here is positive and professional. We started with a pickle tray which is vegan as standard and popadoms of course followed by a feast of geburstag delights. The veg madras was infused with red chillis, the mushroom madras was piquantly delicious and sides of Bombay aloo, tarka dhal and bindi bhaji were above and beyond the call of duty. A great place. The Auld Town of St Andrews lives on

Pros: Nice atmosphere , Vegan? No problem

Fantastic food and friendly staff

As already mentioned there is nothing marked vegan on the menu but the staff are more than happy to accommodate. Almost all curries can be made vegan by simply asking for veg instead of meat, some do have some yogurt in them which they will leave out if you ask for it to be vegan. Tikka Masala and Korma are not suitable. I had the Shahi Tikka Bhuna and my aunt had a Bhuna, both gorgeous

Good Dinner

Went in and told waiter I was vegan and he was more than happy to accommodate. Got a very good curry (it was a tomato base and mixed veggies with good spices), and I had it with white rice on the side. Very good ambience too. Overall 4/5 only minus one star because no vegan naan!

Pros: vegan options, good flavor

Cons: no naan

Wide choice and excellent baltis

Wide choice for veggie family with fussy daughters! we struggled to find a restaurant in St Andrews that would keep us all happy for a night out - many only have one veggie choice, or they have two or three which said fussy daughters wouldn't eat...

This was great, the baltis were the best part I think. I'm giving it maximum rating (4 stars) based on the baltis (balti pasanda and balti sag) and the nans (which were huge, don't order lots!), but husband did say his biryani was just 'ok'.

Pros: Many vegetarian/vegan dishes, Friendly staff, Baltis and nans fabulous

Cons: Vegan dishes not marked on menu, Some items described as 'vegetable', not specific
