Muchas opciones veganas.

Jagannath es una cadena de restaurantes/café/tienda que ofrece comida vegetariana y vegana por porción. Hemos comido varias veces en sus locales. La comida es rica, pero recalentada con microondas.

Pros: Muchas opciones veganas

Cons: Comida recalentada.

went twice

exceptional. food by the 100g, plenty of protein and vegetable selections freshly and creatively prepared.

a case full of yummy deserts!

clean bathrooms. plenty of seating. prices are high-ish but we ordered too many dishes both times haha!

health food store with staples, herbs, medicinals and frozen goods. all in all, a perfect 1980’s health food store that also serves food. with i could go back many more times...

Pros: many options, sold by weight, cafeteria style line

Cons: self service (a pro)

A lot of different dishes

A lot different things to eat, incl. different cakes, main dishes, salads and soups, but you have to ask for heating the soup, otherwise you get a cold one.

Everyday there is a different lunch menu until 3pm including a soup, a main dish, a salat and a juice. We understand it after buying our things, so we paid more (900P ~ 13€) then the 280P (~4€) for the daily menu. Maybe you better ask the stuff which menu it is today.

The food was ok, especially the pumpkinsoup was too sweet (taste more like a dessert), the cinnamon roll was very dry, the other things was good but nothing special. Afterwards we bought two veggy patties in a bun for 100P for the dinner - they were nice but very soft.

The stuff spoke English and were okay, but not very friendly. Every dish is explained in English and Russian, but the thing with the daily menu is just write in Russian😒

In the back of the restaurant there is also a little vegan shop where you can buy cosmetics, sausages, oatmilk, sweets ... .But in comparison to Germany most things cost the same or are more expensive.

Pros: A lot of vegan options, Vegan supermarket in the back, Cheap

Cons: Looks a bit like a canteen, Nothing special

Must visit for vegans and vegetarians

I always go to all the Jagannath restaurants whenever I am in Moscow. Great food and service. Also, the small quantities allow you to sample different foods.

Inexpensive buffet with lots of seats

One of the biggest Jagannaths in town, cosier than Kurskaya and Kitay-Gorod.
Perfect location in one of the fanciest neighbourhoods, affordable prices in the buffet, and a bit overpriced mini store inside.
Terrace working during summer and a lot of seats inside.
Make sure to ask staff to warm up your meal, it's served cold by default.

Pros: Great location, Cheap

Such a big variety of food

Not everything is vegan, but there are still a lot of choices. The taste could be improved, but it’s alright. Unfortunately the food was quite cold, although they put it in the microwave. Would still recommend it!

Highly recommended

Very large selection of vegan food. Buffet style. Great variety covering a wide range of dishes. High quality food. There is a minimum sized portion for each dish so it's not possible to have a large quantity of small portions of different dishes. The price is very reasonable. Great ambience with nice music and free wifi. Vegan shop adjoins the cafe, which stocks a massive variety of food, sweets, herbs, spices, etc. Would definitely eat there again

Pros: Great quality food, Wide selection available, Lovely ambience

Cheap & loaded with options

On a recent trip to Moscow, this place offered extensive plant based choices of great variety & was a perfect standby for every day. Over the course of our trip (4 days) we didn’t get through all of the options on the deli style counter so this should give some idea to the option range. Also offering a range of plant based cakes & sweets and a lovely variety of teas and coffee in a separate section to main eating area. Highly recommended. Though noted in ‘Cons’ below - language barrier on deli section, this isn’t really a ‘con’ just more to be aware that your ability to have basic Russian language is recommended, which in all honesty, out of respect when visiting other nations, it should be in all our courteous codes of practice. Thanks Jagannath, in you we do trust😄

Pros: Variety , Budget , Very helpful in coffee shop section

Cons: Don’t expect piping hot food on deli section. , Language barrier @ deli section. Speak Russian!

Inexpensive, tasty Vegan/Vege Cafeteria

Good Vegan/Vegetarian Homecooked / Cafeteria Style Food. Very inexpensive and healthy, and tasty. All food is labeled to indicate vegan (green signs) and vegetarian (orange signs). I am happy to have found this chain of stores. Not as clean or quiet as the one on Prospect Mira but still better than nonvegan places. 3 toilets were empty when I was there but weren't that clean. Staff was not that friendly, but that's Russia

Unexciting, but happy to have the option

This is a chain, and this ignorant foreigner only visited the one... perhaps another review is not needed, I dunno. Here goes anyway, from the American perspective? :)

I'm giving it 4 stars because it is nice to have veg options in Moscow -- obviously, the options are growing, but it's still pretty limited. And the truth is that you can get a decent meal here, one with a bit of variety.

However, it definitely feels like a bit of a chain for reasons others have mentioned. First, it's all preprepped stuff, and cold; I wouldn't expect to be blown away by the food itself. My food was decent, however -- the main issue was that it was sitting around cold. Second, it was *highly* vegetarian slanted when I was there -- seemed about 10% vegan options (not sure how well it was labeled -- I'm ignorant and don't know Russian... luckily, my companion was able to ask, but that might be an issue for non-flexible vegans without Russian).

Third, I found it pricey for what we got -- pretty small portions for the price... however, not entirely sure how to gauge that as a foreign tourist, because Moscow is not the cheapest city ever, and I did find that portion sizes in Russia tended to be small. But when the item is basically potatoes... I mean, the stuff I had was pretty simple and cheap to make.

Pros: Veg options in a veg-limited big city, Numerous options (for the non-vegan)

Cons: Not many vegan options (when I was there), Pricey for what you get, Chain feel

Nice place with bland food

It's not my first time eating in Jagannath, but i face the same problem. Even though the place is pretty famous, but the food is really tasteless and dry. It's nice to seat there and drink tea, cause the atmosphere is peaceful and design is nice. They have many vegan options.

Pros: nice atmosphere , medium price, many options

Cons: dry, not appealing , bland

Nice and simple food

I can hear and read people complaining about the downgrading quality of the place. Not having know it from before, I cannot judge, but:
- The food quality is overall pretty good; it's not amazing stuff, but it's tasty and varied
- Yes, some dishes are a bit cold, and that's a problem
- The price was very cheap (at least compared to other places I've been in Moscow, comparing only the quantity of food you get).

Pros: Location, Cheap, Buffet

Cons: Sometimes the food is a bit cold

Not getting better

I used to like Jagannaths at first, but now I find these points rather disappointing. They have three kind of wraps and none of them vegan. I mean, why don't just do it without cheese? Tried sandwich, it was wrapped in lots of layers of oh-so-ecologic stretch foil and the bun was a lot like rubber: hard to chew and tasteless. Once I tried microwaving buns and got same thing. Did they microwave it? Why so, if yes? It was cold anyway... The food in the buffet can be hardly called lukewarm. It's rather cold.

A lot of desserts, but if you're vegan you can have only some little raw candies or rice ball with cherries.

Ah and also! You can't just put things from buffet on your plate. You have to ask for them. After you asked whether it's vegan.

They also have a shop and it's like 1,5 times more expencive than other healthy shops in Moscow. Veg card worth buying though. It's 100 roubles and after easy online registration gives you discounts in vegeterian and vegan shops, caffes and even in some yoga studios and so on across the whole Russia.

Pros: At least no meat

Cons: Cold food, Not an actual buffet, Too much of milk and cheese

ISKCON Restaurant

Having eaten at tens of Govindas/Haris Restaurants worldwide, I expected good food - that was the first mistake. Second mistake, expecting it to be tasty. Final mistake - expecting it to be at right temperature. Dissatisfied on all three counts. Soup was at a temp that can best be described as below luke warm. Rice was cold and so were rotis. Veggies, whatever they were, had no taste other than sour. Tofu roll was ice cold too. Saving grace - they had papadums, of all things!! If you are going here to eat Indian food and know what Indian food is, don't go at all. At best, food here might charitably be called Russified Indian-themed food. Whichever ISKCON Group is running this restaurant needs to really look at whether Krishna and AC Bhakti Vedanta Srila Prabhupada would approve of the tasteless, cold food they serve. They do need to invest in kettles to keep soups piping hot, steamer for rotis, and warmers for buffet items. Even both Govindas in Irkutsk had much better setup and tasty, warm food than here.

Pros: Vegetarian, Location, Papadums

Cons: Cold Food

Good Selection in City Centre

I didn't expect to be able to find a restaurant with vegan options right in the centre of Moscow. Quite a trendy area.

There are quite a lot of items with dairy, etc but we happened to find a good selection of vegan dishes. Not a bad price, either. We tried a spinach dish, meatballs (very good), tofu with sprouts, rice, salads and the ever-popular buffet item, the Strawberry Drink.

Nicely decorated and also has a pretty large shop and cafe in the same building.

Pros: Choices, Location, Tasty

Indian buffet

A little intimidating at first if your Russian isn't great as you have to ask for what you'd like from the buffet. Staff are somewhat patient and know a tiny bit of English. Lots of choice. The tofu curry is really nice and such a good price. I'd been paying a lot more for my curry fix in the past so happy I've found this place.

Pros: good value for money , can see what you're getting, nice seating area

Cons: buffet style difficult to order (the first time), you don't know the price until the checkout

Always a good meal

I always drop by this place when I am nearby. The food is simple but filling and hearty. Also you can get a discount card which saves you a lot of money if you are a regular guest.

Pros: good food, nice portions, helpful tags

Fair food, fair prices

I really appreciated that every single item has a tag indicating the ingredients, in Russian, yes, but you can sort it out with a dictionary (and if you're a well prepared vegan traveller, you already memorized basic words such as milk, eggs, cheese), so it is not difficult for a vegan to sort out the non-vegan items. I'm very thankful for this effort, I would suggest, you can make this even better, for instance, just add the international vegan icon to the dishes that are vegan, that would make many lives easier.

I was told that sometimes the personnel was unfriendly, I don't think so, I went there at least 4 times and mostly they are shy of trying English if you're a foreigner, but unfriendly, absolutely not.

The food and the price you pay is absolutely fair, it is good without being amazing but for that price you cannot complain, and you pay by weight -some individual items cost more, so if you're not that hungry, then you just end paying less.
I found it a bummer that they don't serve any alcohol but I guess that's the spirit of the place. It comes with a vegan/vegetarian shop which comes very handy (but don't expect English, I managed with a dictionary)

Pros: Cheap, Large offer, Every item with list of ingredients

Cons: U like a bier with your food?, forget it
