CLOSED: Jaffa - Hummus and Other Stories

Located is a makeshift-like quarter between Piotrkowska and Sienkiewicza with plenty of hip shops and restaurants, all exuding a raw, festival-ish atmosphere.
Jaffa provides a fair amount of dishes + possibly even more beverages (mainly wines). There where some vegan options, however the majority contained dairy or eggs. Sadly the vegan options weren't clearly indicated and furthermore the was no English menu, only the ingredients in Polish (as of early September 2016). It would be very helpful to have a "v" in brackets for instance labeling a dish as vegan. The staff explains to you everything you want to know, needless to say, but still. (My Polish isn't very good, so I asked a few things to be sure.)
The food is pretty good. I had a tabbouleh (with pomegranate, very interesting, not bad though), a wrap (also with some pomegranate) and a coke. All in all saturating food for a reasonable price (whereas beverages are more expensive) in a relaxed atmosphere.
The dishes are freshly prepared (at least as far as I can tell) by the cook who has pretty limited space next to the till - alright for mixing cocktails, but rather modest for preparing food. Quality was good though.
Jaffa goes rather after hipster costumers. Yet, I would go there again.

Apart from some dishes containing yoghurt or eggs, menu is practically vegan. Amazing food full of flavour and divine coffee!

The best hummus you may find in Łódź - if you're looking for a nice, clean and decent place that serves brilliant food, you have to head Jaffa! They serve awesome hummus in many tastes and a lot of other oriental food you won't find in the city: the lebanese, iranese, israeli and some other Middle East cuisines.
Last sunday I went for their vegan brunch, themed tomatoes, but the variety of food was astonishing. I ended up with full belly and a happy heart and I've tried a lot of different stuff and every each of it was full of taste.
The prices are friendly and portions are suficient.
The service is always polite and helpful.
They offer cosher and vegan wines and beers, and also other alcohols, from which I'd recommend Slivovitz - but be careful with that! ;)
