Serves meat, vegan options available. Upscale retro lounge/bar located within the Sentinel Hotel in downtown; has separate entrance. Several styles of seating, from bar seats and dining tables with chairs to romantic couches by a 2-sided fireplace and picnic tables outside. The menu is vegan-friendly with vegan items such as mac n cheese, dumplings, crab cakes, tofu bowls, and burger. Parking is in a public garage one block away, plus a mass transit train (MAX) is also within a block. Reported closed February 2022.

Limited options - Edit
I was about to go back here, since I came a couple of years ago and am hungry downtown. The menu online shows even fewer vegan options so I'll find somewhere else. Disappointing for a LBC place, since their other bars are much more accommodating.

Lacking vegan options - Edit
This place really only offers a the standard meat-bar vegan fare: Gardein vegan burger and some snacks like a hummus plate. Standard meat restaurant food. Not really a good vegan spot. Good drinks, cool decor.

It's a bar - Edit
The food was ok. It's a bar, dimly lit and not a great selection of food to choose from. I wouldn't go back.

Romantic - Edit
A nice upscale bar that has vegan food. We were impressed with the menu as only 2 items were not vegan. Their General Tso Cauliflower dish was excellent and their Mac & Cheese was the best vegan Mac & cheese we've ever had! Great atmosphere and some real romantic areas.

Gosh, these are some conflicting statements on the Jackknife Bar! I've been there for drinks but assumed they had no vegan food, but some disagree; do they or don't they? I live close by and will stop in again to see about the vegan mac and cheese and the General Tso cauliflower. Thanks for the tip.
