Really nice surprise, I had no idea that place existed. It’s a nice experience, you order through the iPad or your phone, wait, and they send you a message once is ready. Just food to take out, there’s many different kitchens there, I only tried this one because is vegan… they were super nice, I had the birria tacos made out of jackfruit, and were unbelievably good, very tasty, big portions, good price. I’ll be back for sure!

As the title suggests, my food was Luke warm in temperature, taste and presentation. I ordered the Mac n Cheese bowl with BBQ Jack fruit. I arrived about 10 minutes before it was ready. Which suggests to me that it was hot off the presses, not, that was so very far from my experience. The temperature of my food was as if it had been sitting on the shelf for 20 minutes. The Mac n Cheese was so very bland it is not worthy of any other title except BLAND. The BBQ Jack fruit was mostly salty with some tang, I had no sense of BBQ. The corn bread was outright cold. The plantain was fair, but it was plopped in the BBQ so every bite had the salty/tangy Jack fruit on it. Everything was just thrown into the bowl with only one concern....get it into the bowl. I will never ever order from this place again. I would give them one star, but this app automatically applies one star, so two stars is the minimum.

I was really excited to try this place as I love BBQ jackfruit. I ordered the BBQ jackfruit sandwich, fries, and macaroni. The sandwich tasted good but was very wimpy in size. The macaroni wasn’t nothing special and the fries were soggy as if they’d been in a swimming pool all day. Very disappointing.

Had the bbq jackfruit sandwich meal -comes with mac ‘n cheese and a fried plantain slice. I have tried the vegan version of the pulled pork sandwich many times at various places, but this was outstanding. The “meat” is slightly charred and crunchy, like it was cooked over charcoal. The sauce was sweet and smoky -Memphis style. An added culinary detail was the way the buns were grilled on the inside with a buttery flavor and a crispy skin.

We went to The Colony & I ordered the soul bowl at jack fruit cafe. It was delicious & Angela was so nice to check on me after I was served the food she cooked to make sure I was happy. I definitely was! Rich and flavorful bbq jackfruit, yummy collard greens, black eyed peas, cornbread, plantains, rice & mac’n’cheese. Honestly the best vegan soul food I’ve ever had.

Had the pleasure to finally visit the brick and mortar and wow. I got a loaded bowl and loaded fries. So much food is packed in! Definitely got my money’s worth. My cauli wings tasted like orange chicken which I loved. The jackfruit was perfectly cooked and seasoned, loved the bbq char flavor as well. I did find the corn bread and mac n cheese a bit bland, but other than that I can’t wait to come back. There is limited seating inside, two community tables and one window bar.

We did wait about 30 minutes for our food but I knew it was fresh & Miss Angela never stopped moving.

I arrived this morning to order a soul food platter and burrito. The woman told me it would be 30 minutes for some of the items on the soul food platter so I decided to get the tacos instead, because she said the tacos were ready. I also saw the jackfruit and items for the tacos on display a la Chipotle. There were four people waiting for food before me. 15 minutes went by. 30 minutes went by and after about 45 minutes, one person got their food. Closer to an hour later (in total), the three-person group received their food. I was next! The woman brought out the food and gave it to people who came after me. After waiting an hour, my food was given to people who came in after me! I was furious and let her know that was my food, the exact order!! She didn’t offer a apology, made excuses that she was by herself and directed that I be patient after already waiting an hour, an hour without any updates from her! I’m extremely disappointed and will never, ever go back to this place!!

The jackfruit cafe is actually inside the donut shop. I was a little concerned because it's a donut shop and a vegan cafe in one. After speaking with the owner and watching as she cooked and prepared my food my worry went away. She was very nice. I was looking forward to trying the Jackfruit Soul Platter but it was only tacos today. I was okay with that cause I would've tried those my next visit. The food was really good and I loved the pinto and I normally hate pinto beans.
