Loved our experience at J Kitchen. - Edit

5 stars all the way. In terms of ambience and service our J Kitchen experience was the best in Chiang Mai. And food is great, too. Will be back again. We ordered 3 dishes with 2 sides of rice and it was ฿450, so about 13 dollars and we were both very full. We tried the fried mushroom salad with a fantastic dipping sauce, wonton soup, and tofu in curry sauce, and loved all three. They have 3 dessert options, and the only vegan option was gelato, so it would be great if they added a couple more vegan dessert options, such as a chocolate truffle, for example. Highly recommend this place.

Tasty but not spicy, bit pricey, odd location. Upmarket feel. - Edit

I had a few hours to wait for a bus to Chiang Rai, so I walked here (try crossing the freeway!) because tuktuks and red trucks didn't want to drive here (traffic jams!) Anyway, the food was nice, well presented, and the service was good. They speak English well enough. I prefer spicier food at less cost, but the AC and WiFi were appreciated. If you're nearby, check it out.

Pros: Lots of options , English speaking staff. , AC, WiFi, chilled music.

Cons: Not a great location.

Bit out of the way, posh Thai food - Edit

The restaurant is serving an upscale version of traditional food. It's a little pricey for what it is and unfortunately it's out of town a bit, but it's a nice restaurant to sit and have a meal.

The dragon pearl tea was nice. Both spring rolls were unusual as they were in thinly rolled in a crispy pastry that was well done. Unfortunately one of the dips appeared to be ketchup based, but the other dips were nicer. The pad thai and beancurd satay was average. The best dish was the spicy coconut curried mushroom.

Pros: nice atmosphere, staff were friendly

Cons: far out of town, bit pricey for what it was

Excellent - Edit

Would've given 5 stars if they could have served more gluten free menu items. Will come back with my own sauces next time. Delicious food and excellent, personal service.

Fancy vegetarian place - Edit

This place is high end vegetarian. Immaculate service and luxurious decor it's a good place to take a date or one's parents. This is of course reflected in the price. It's not extortionate and maybe even cheap if you have a Western income but pricier that other options around so I'm not a regular visitor. Food is excellent though.

Pros: Decor, service

Cons: Not for on-a-budget backpackers
