Excelente - Edit

Pretty Good - Edit
I'm sure some people love this place, but I'm not a big fan of cold silken tofu, which is what they serve. I also didn't care for the karage texture. That said, I liked the dumplings and the busy izakaya vibe was cool.

Good value Izakaya but weird vibes - Edit
The food is cheap and good portions, maybe a bit too salty. We were happy with what we got, but the vibe of the restaurant is a bit weird, there was no music, which is very different from the other Izakaya's nearby.

Fantastic vegan karaage - Edit
I had a very good vegan karaage (with yuzu pepper mayonnaise) here along with great vegetable gyozas. I liked that they had a clear picture menu on the wall in both English and Japanese, making it super easy to order. It was quite hard for me to find among the maze of restaurants inside the mall, but I located it eventually. It's a small space, so I can imagine it getting busy during peak times. I recommend trying this place out if you are in the area.

Deceptive - Edit
I really enjoyed their food in their Kyoto venue, but unfortunately this was not the case of the Tokyo one. Contrary to the Kyoto nice restaurant, this is a dark bar located in a noisy area, with no service and with doubtful cleaning. Both the table and the karaage food was greasy, I would only recommend trying maitake mushrooms, but when back in the area, I certainly I would rather search for other restaurants with vegan options. As a plus, this is probably one of the few places to try vegan karaage.

Small and popular - Edit
This place is small and very popular. There may be a wait. Food and service were very good. The menu offerings were more like dim sum. As is now typical in many restaurants, ordering is by an app. A nice place for a quick dinner. The restaurant may also be referred to as Vegan Izakaya Masaka.

Good if in shibya parco - Edit
Pretty good especially the gyoza but we barely got in as it was super packed and we were just lucky to get in last before close. Atmosphere is nothing special and pretty crammed. If you’re already at shibuya parco like we were, might be worth checking out if you can get in but wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Overrated - Edit
I’ve eaten here in 2019 right after they opened. while their karaage isn’t bad I find the menu quite boring. Almost everything is fried. No veggies. Also, since it’s very small, it’s always full.

Good luck - Edit
The food here used to be great, but now I’ve been here several times in the early evening on a weekday and they had a sign out that they’re closed for the day due to being at capacity.
Read moreWould have easily rated this place 4-5 stars before, but there’s no point in having it highly rated if the chance to actually get anything is so low.

Show up early and bring friends - Edit
I was turned away at 8PM on a Monday because the waitlist was already too long. When I returned on Thursday at 6PM, I had a 30 minute wait (one person). By 7:20 PM, they had put out the sign saying they weren't accepting new customers that night. So get here early!
Read moreI ordered the mizuna green salad (crunchy but oily), the gyoza, the karaage with yuzu pepper mayonnaise and the mapo tofu. The karaage is a standout. The mapo tofu was good, but I ordered it without rice so I would have room for other dishes, and I think it would have been better with rice to balance out the concentrated flavor.
This restaurant is best visited with friends so everyone can try a little of everything. As one person, I was disappointed I could only order 4-5 dishes before filling up.

You can't beat the karaage - Edit
You will find this small restaurant on the B1 level of the Parco building, in the "Chaos Kitchen" food court. Use the outside elevator to the right of the mall doors. Unless you get there when they open, expect to put your name on the list to wait for a table. Sit on low stools at small tables and order using a QR code. You will be brought freshly cooked, hot, crispy vegan karaage with a choice of 4 different toppings (the tartar sauce was out when we visited and we had the teriyaki mayonnaise; yuzu and lemon are other options). We also ordered fried maitake (hen of the woods) mushrooms, which were well seasoned but paled in comparison to the karaage, and ma po tofu with rice, which was served on a sizzling platter so the rice absorbed the sauce and became crispy on the bottom. It needed some extra soy sauce but had a good flavor. I usually don't eat fried food and am not a fan of fake meat, but I will definitely go back and eat more karaage when next in Tokyo.
