Spicy but worth it

I was here late August last here but still remember this meal
It was super spicy but in the best way possible, very accessible prices and super nice location by the river!

Lovely people, lovely food - lovely!

Good traditional flavoursome South Indian food, vegan and gluten free options, helpful people. Would like to recommend the chana masala brownie but my spouse ate it all :-(

Pros: Vegan gluten-free thali, Spicy chai, Tables outside

Too spicy 🌶️🔥

The food is good I guess and 95% of the menu is vegan. But for me, which I'm not a fan of spicy food wasn't great. Everything was super spicy and I did ask if it was. And they said no. I guess for them it's not.

Pros: Almost everything vegan, Menu is 15€ and has as lot of food

Cons: Very spicy food which for me

Amazing

Very small, family-run vegetarian/vegan restaurant by the quays. Can be tricky getting a seat at peak times, but it's well worth waiting. Food is imaginative and so good! Menu changes depending on what's in season. Foraged foods also make an appearance at times.

Pros: Imaginative, colourful and tasty Indian cuisine

Cons: Small space

Iyers

It was fine. We really appreciated the fact the food had some spice. We ordered and shared a masala dosa and a plate with beet curry and chickpea curry. The dosa and sambar were really average. I liked the idea of a beet curry a lot and it was executed well. The chickpea curry was OK. Would I eat here again? Maybe. But I honestly don’t get the hype of it being 5 star amazing.

Small and popular

A small place offering an exclusive selection of Indian food. The food was absolutely wonderful and the staff was super friendly. I would however enjoyed my meal better in a more spacious environment. They only have around 13 seats which makes it very crowded and since they don’t take bookings people que just behind your table, it was a bit stressful.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Small and crowded

Best South Indian ever.

Gautama Iyer is my favorite Indian chef in the whole world. There, I said it.
There's no reviewing this place, just go there and eat everything.

It's not food, it's an experience for the soul.

Pros: Best food ever, Best Food ever, Did I say best food ever?

Cons: I wish it was open 24/7 so I can eat all the time.

Amazing South Indian Veggie & Vegan Cuisine

Really great cafe with everything being vegetarian and a lot of vegan options and gluten free options. Masala dosas, samosas, thalis, it's all amazing and freshly prepared.
Even the desserts are marked vegan or gluten free. Try the delicious chai brownie. Coffee is really good too - Badger and Dodo.
Having travelled in India for six months this place really nails the cuisine and I believe the chef/owner is from South India. Can't rate it highly enough!

Pros: Amazing, authentic fresh south Indian food.

Cons: Small space so sometimes hard to get a table.

Excellent

We have been here several times. We have always been lucky and got a seat. The staff are very helpful and the food is delicious. Our kids are not too fond of the food here as it's a bit too spicy for them yet. Love the fact that so much of their food is gluten free too.

Good food, but overpriced

The food is vegan-friendly and authentic. However, the portions are outrageously small and overpriced. I enjoyed my meal when I visited, but the price and small portion put me off and I've not returned since.

Pros: Authentic, Vegan options, Extremely tasty

Cons: Overpriced, Small portions

Best Indian Food.

Went to Iyers for a early dinner, We weren't sure what to expect but we heard they done really good vegan food. We were not disappointed!
We asked for advice on what to order and we were recommend to order a dosa each and split another dish. I got the potato dosa which was incredible! The spinach and sweet potato dish with coconut rice we ordered was amazing too! Id highly recommend both dishes.
Its the best Indian food I have had since going vegan 2+ years ago.
The prices are also extremely good value, We got 2 dosas, a another dish and a tea and coffee with a brownies all for about 30 euro.
The women who was serving on the 19th of January was wonderful, She was so inviting and knowledgeable about the food and was also so friendly but non intrusive.
The next time I'm in cork ill defiantly be paying Iyers another few visits and I recommend if your ever in cork that you give them a visit!

Pros: Amazing Food. , Great Value., Friendly and Inviting Staff.

Cons: No Cons.

Iyer Aw yeh

With my mum being born and brought up in India, we've gone here a few times for her to experience 'proper INDIAN food'! She likes the lightness of the cuisine. Me too!

I pop in pretty frequently to get the divine vegan choccy brownies - I think they've got cardomen in them. 😋

Iyer's

Well, not quite the best. I'd like to contradict the previous reviewer.
Iyer's definitely is a nice place to be, there are some downsides to this venue though: First of all it's pretty cramped there; even if you're the only person inside, you might feel cramped due to the cheek by jowl tables and chairs. Once there are few more people, the place becomes crowded very easily. I claim, usually you don't want to stay there for very long, unless it's raining outside.
Apart from this Iyer's is more or less alright. The food seems to me slightly overpriced, since the portions aren't generous at all, but it looks keen and tastes good. After all the venue is clean and bright and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Go there if you want to experience decent Indian food, but don't go there if you are really hungry or if you want to stay for longer.
There are not many alternatives in Cork, that's true, but you still can do better.

Pros: clean and bright, decent taste

Cons: slightly overpriced, cramped, not for big appetite
