Brilliant food! - Edit
Visited this place on a whim. I love Asian food and to find a fully vegan Japanese restaurant was just amazing!
Read moreFood was delicious and far exceeded my expectations.
The staff were very polite and welcoming.
I will definitely be back to try the dinner menu.
Pros: Amazing food, Polite staff, Great service
Cons: Slightly cramped, but just a nitpick

Big dissapointment - Edit
I try here every 5 years. Went recently. Slow, chaotic service and food really below par. Cramped space also. Oily and unpleasant was our experience.

Good lunch - Edit
After a week in Wales this was by far the best food we had ;)
Read moreBut keep in mind that options are a bit more limited for lunch.
We had a creamy ramen bowl with gyoza and the udon noodles with tempura and broccoli. The sides (broccoli and gyoza) were okay but nothing exceptional.
The creamy ramen however was quite tasty. The udon noodles was not really our thing, however the tempura was tasty.
Service was very quick but seems we were lucky to get a spot, just passing by.

We had a really tasty meal here- so much choice. We chose from the small plates and there was nothing we didn’t like- everything was delicious! So busy eating I forgot to take photos. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!

The food was so good, we had it 2 meals in a row. My wife wasn’t feeling well and we came here and she felt better right afterwards. The food was great, service was attentive, and vibe was perfect.

Amazing food and lovely staff - Edit
We had a fantastic Japanese GF lunch today. The only thing we are sad about, is that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays and we don’t have another opportunity to eat there before we go back home 😍

Amazing - 10/10 😍 - Edit
We had the best time at Itadakizen, it’s a really cute cosy restaurant- it was fully booked when we went, and the staff were brilliant and super attentive.
Read moreThe menu is more tapas style so went went for a selection of: Japanese mixed vegetable rice, vegan calamari, vegan meat balls, tofu & mushroom croquettes, chapche and homemade Japanese curry rice. The chapche and Japanese curry rice were bigger dishes and more like mains, and were super delicious. My favourites were probably the tofu & mushroom croquettes, would highly recommend trying those!
We got the passion fruit Mochi for dessert and they were also lovely.
Would put this place at the top of my list of vegan places to try!

Good food, terrible service - Edit
We visited twice and won’t be going again based on staff.
Read moreThe first time the food was good and arrived quickly.
On our second visit was for a special anniversary and we reserved a table. We ordered a significant amount of food for two people as well as drinks (bill was over £90). The food came quickly and we ordered dessert.
In the middle of our drinks and dessert a bill was put on our table and the waitress said she needed our table. We weren’t even halfway through our reservation time and were planning on ordering more drinks. We were confused and upset. When we asked the waitress why this happened she wasn’t apologetic and just didn’t seem to understand that our experience was spoiled.
Honestly I just felt so upset in the moment that we left, only having been there for 40 minutes. There are so many amazing vegan restaurants with great service that I won’t be coming here again.
Pros: All vegan
Cons: Expensive, Poor service

Excellent Japanese Vegan Food - Edit
Great atmosphere and attentive staff, nice range of Japanese alcoholic drinks on offer and some great specials - you can grab 3-4 little dishes here for around £12-£15 and will come away full, a real gem.

Real good food - Edit
Really tasty Japanese food. We were with a party of 3 and ordered 9 different bites. Fried, steamed, raw etc. Good variety of tastes and structures. Dishes are all with their own identity. Many Asian-looking people eat their quick dinner there as it appears. Do not forget to make a reservation!

Nice little cosy Japanese spot, not far from Kings Cross station, suddenly filled up the minute we arrived and as we left, there were people queuing (which is obviously a good sign), so I highly recommend booking in advance. You won't be disappointed. Really friendly service, dishes served tapas-style and surprisingly quick, given the quality of the food. Really enjoyed what we ordered.

Excellent Japanese tapas - Edit
Itadaki zen is one of my spots to go when I’m in London. It’s convenient to get to and every dish is great. Because it’s tapas style, you can also try several dishes when you’re there. There is really no wrong choice, but I’ve always enjoyed the tempura roll, croquettes, and curry rice.

Small plates Japanese - Edit
It was so great to have many small plates to be able to sample lots of different things on their amazing menu! We especially loved the tempura and the sushi. The setting was small and cosy - we struggled to book (on a Friday) a week in advance, so would recommend doing this as early as possible.
Read moreFor food quantities - the wait staff were happy to help with this, but we ordered around 5/6 small plates between 3 and a ‘main’ curry / noodles dish. Some things were less easily shareable so best to be with friends!
