wonderful space and food - Edit

This is a lovely place for a healthy breakfast or lunch. They specialize in oatmeal mixes with chia seeds and other stuff. I don't think they have anything fried or greasy. They do have cookies and cupcakes if you're craving sweets. I didn't get one but they looked delicious. They also have coffee and tea and hot chocolate. It's all vegan so no having to ask a bunch of questions or worry about cross contamination. They have nice decor and state that they want to create a safe, peaceful space for everyone. I saw a nice mix of people there so I think they are accomplishing that.

Oatmeal Cafe HEAVEN - Edit

We had lunch at the Oatmeal Cafe today and it was the best I have ever had. We had the Islands Pizza and a Greek burger. The sides were also great zucchini salad and pepper strips and hummus. They had just run out of the beet salad that sounded super.
Good size and super taste. The veggies come from a farm just 2 miles away. What a super place. No room for desert but we will be back for sure and often. Vegan is great.

Pros: super fresh, great flavors, all vegan

Cons: not open for dinner, ran out of beet salad

Amazing!!! - Edit

So I had read another review that stated that this place was no longer open. So not true!!! If your GPS takes you to a boarded up location, try the other side of the shopping center. They are there and are AMAZING!!! 4 of us went and all got different items and we were all so very pleased with our food, including the smoothies. It is an adorable shop and everyone was so welcoming. We are visiting the area and they made sure to make us feel right at home and even sent us with cookies for our plane trip. We will definitely be back and see ourselves becoming regulars when we finally move here! Oh, I did have to get a bag of oatmeal to take on the rest of our trip as the banana bread oatmeal was so great! Seriously love this place and am so happy we did not miss out due to inaccurate information about them being closed.

vegan breakfast heaven! - Edit

Found this place using happy cow and I'm so glad I did! Not only is everything vegan but the prices are so low. Breakfast for 3 was only $20. I ordered the pancakes and they were amazing. The traditional oatmeal was very good too. I definitely plan to come back!

Greatest Place Ever! - Edit

I was first introduced to this cafe by my girlfriend, who was referred there in her quest for the greatest healthy muffin in the valley, and she was not disappointed. When we returned, we tried the traditional oatmeal (pb&j for me, lavender for her), and we were sold forever. Since then, we have returned almost weekly and still have not had the chance to try everything! Even their s'mores flavor has vegan marshmallows, and their pancakes are fabulous! 5/5, will remain a regular as long as I live within an hour's drive.

Pros: Friendly staff, Huge Variety

SO MUCH GOOD STUFF - Edit

Calling all vegetarians and vegans everywhere!
This place is too awesome and too delicious!

Let's start with the breakfast options: over 20 different flavors of oatmeal, served a ton of different ways (hot, cold in soy/almond milk, in a parfait, w/ coconut oil, or cooked into pancakes). I am not great at meath, but I think with all those options, you could come in hundreds of times and try something different. Also, like someone else mentioned in their review, this is the first palce I have found with vegan pancakes (which you can also get gluten-free on request). Yum!

Then there is the lunch time options: five different vegan burgers that they have made in-house. Every vegetarian and vegan I know has been forced to eat the one vegetarian option at a restaurant, a flat, cardboardy veggie pattie from a freezer box, but ladies and gentlemen, the Oatmeal Cafe knows what they are doing here! Each burger is served with a side of fresh veggies and hummus, and I just went last Saturday to discover they were serving cold soups on the side as well! So refreshing in the Arizona summer!

Don't pass this place up, whether you are vegan, vegeratian, gluten-free, a voracious meat-eater or anything in between! The staff is incredible and I could go on and on about the food forever.

I have been so many times now that I feel like I can give a reccomendation for each way the oatmeal is served, just to help you out the first time you go:

Hot: Cranberry Maple Pecan

Muesli (cold w/ almond or soy milk): Blueberry Vanilla Almond

Parfait: Walnut apple pie with apple sauce OR Banana Bread with yogurt (ask them to add peanut butter)

w/ warm coconut oil: Cocoa Mayan (chocolate/vanilla/cayenne)

Pancakes: Blueberry vanilla almond or Chocolate PB

Burgers: Try them all!!! (But maybe start with the Hillbilly BBQ)

ENJOY!

Pros: delicious food, inexpensive, great staff

Amazing Pancakes and burgers. - Edit

I have been vegan for almost four years now and this is the first place that I have found that offers vegan pancakes!
If its your first time I highly recommend that you order the Cranberry Maple Pecan pancakes. I recently found out however, that every Saturday they have a special limited time flavor. Ask for it, I have not been unsatisfied yet :)
They also offer incredible vegan burgers, if you are a fan of Indian food you should try the Vindy Jewels Burger. Its my favorite :)

Awesome - Edit

Ok, So I was a little unsure walking through the door. It is very cute, but I thought Oatmeal. How much can they do with Oatmeal. Well I eat my words and the Oatmeal. I have been there several times now and I have tried the best pancakes I have ever tasted and they must have 75 ways to have them. They offer pour over coffee, yummy and some excellent local teas. The Vegan burgers are made from the Oatmeal and I am telling you, this blows any old Veg Patty away. They handcraft all of there stuff for you so it takes a few minutes but the environment is lovely and the staff is great. I know that it is owned by a family with just a few being actually family but they way the entire staff interacts with the customer and each other you cannot help but think they are all family. I highly recommend this place.

Pros: Excellent Food, Friendly Staff, Organic and Natural Ingredients

Cons: Tney need a location closer to my home.

great food, nice people - Edit

Ok, just a warning up front. This is one of the most confusing menus you will ever encounter. Lots of choices for pancakes and oatmeal mix-ins left us feeling a bit dazed and confused. BUT it's worth it. The food was awesome. It really hit the spot for a late breakfast (they do have a lunch menu). The staff are helpful and willing to guide you. My suggestion? Just tell them to surprise you, it all looks great.

Pros: friendly , awesome tasting food, fair pricing

Cons: confusing menu (but that means lots of good choice

A Delicious Discovery! - Edit

What a wonderful gem my daughter and I discovered in Mesa. We visited Mesa Arizona for the first time to attend a friend's wedding. While there we saw this cute little cozy cafe and decided to try it for a late breakfast/snack. The staff was warm, friendly, very knowledgeable and passionate about their foods. We had a smoothie, a frozen hot chocolate , a couple of peanut butter cookies and an Issa's magic dessert cup (heaven in a cup). So delicious and nutritious that we returned the next day to have our first vegan experience. We had the Goombah and the Islander vegan burgers and of course another yummy smoothie. What a delicious surprise- who knew vegan could be soooo good!! We also purchased these little oatmeal raw balls to snack on for the plane trip home (sooo good). We went exploring around town and came upon a fun farmer's market where we ran into one of the owner's at a booth selling Issa's Magic Oatmeal. We purchased two flavors which we are enjoying at home in Nebraska. Can't wait to make some of their pancake and muffin recipes with them. I'm sure glad they ship... we will need to order more soon.
