Read moreThe most surprising element of my visit here was my welcome - or lack thereof - upon entering the store. Very much against the grain of what I had experienced in the country as a whole, the acknowledgement I did receive was only marginally less frosty than the wares on offer.
Still, there was ice cream to be had, and I was extremely eager to try one in particular: the cashew & caramel. A glorious sounding combination, I was convinced it was going to be incredible. Sadly, I was wrong. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but it neither of its titular ingredients was conspicuous enough, and therefore fell a little flat.
It was in fact the chocolate (the only other real option as the sorbets just weren’t going to cut it) that stole the show. Creamy, rich and with a truly prominent flavour, it far outshone what I thought would be its superior peer.
In summation of this spot, I would say that they offer up some good, texturally sound options. However, given the lack of depth in terms of choices, and the flaws regarding the ones they do have, I wouldn’t be in a desperate rush to return here - but I might do so in a pinch.

Tasty Icecream but unpleasant Service! - Edit
They have only few but honestly delicious vegan choices - I tried the chain in Ella already. However, I ordered the vegan chocolate and they accidentally gave me the Regular chocolate. When I mentioned that and asked for a replacement (I was friendly of course) they denied the mistake, even though you could clearly see and Taste the difference. This was quite disappointing - so if you go there, make sure you get served what you ordered..

Best Vegan Ice Cream Ever - Edit
Plenty of competition in Galle as there are at least 5 ice cream places we counted (we tried 3 of them!) doing sorbets and vegan ice creams but this is the best. The Cashew Caramel Ice Cream is the best ice cream I've ever had. Creamy and full of flavour. Also has indoor seats with a/c. Is a little pricier than the outdoor parlours but worth it.

They almost always have 6 vegan options, usually 4 sorbets and 2 ice creams made with coconut milk - I had the chocolate version many times, straciatella and caju caramel, all pretty good. 🙂

There were 6 vegan options available today (coconut with chocolate chips, chocolate, passion fruit, pineapple, mango, and watermelon mint). It was nice to have multiple options and it was really tasty. Expensive by Sri Lankan standards though, 950 for two scoops. Prices are up due to the economic crisis but still, this was a tad pricey.

The have fruit sorbets and no real vegan ice cream. Go to cafe 82 just a hundred meters away instead for a great vegan ice cream. The sorbets were so sweet that I couldn’t even finish half of them. Coffee is okay.
