Lots of options

This is a small store but they carry lots of vegan brands that you would find in stores like Whole Foods. They also have some of their own vegan meals, prepackaged and ready to eat - like a vegan breakfast burrito and vegan Alfredo pasta.

I discovered some new things here- like the “so good” brand miso mayo dressing!

The selection differs day to day. Some days they sell out of some options, like the vegan cupcakes. You need to come back when they restock. That’s the only con.

isla vista, CA, near Pacific Ocean air4picnic views; plenty Vegan foods and health drinks.

isla vista, CA, near Pacific Ocean air4picnic views; plenty Vegan foods and health drinks. i had used to go there in the 1980's. i had planted up the isla vista community garden and green-house behind the UCSB.edu Harding stadium, turning it from a ghost-town feel to a thriving green nursery full of baby fruit trees in pots, ready for transplanting thru the community. isla vista coop naturally would be a place such a MAHA-ATMA great soul gardener could go get bodily nourishment for strength and energy to keep on planting trees and nursing baby seedlings/saplings. good vibes isla vista co-op. 😁 :-)

Pros: near Pacific Ocean air4picnic views, near isla vista community garden&green-house site, plenty Vegan foods and health drinks.

Great selection of vegan cheese and meats

I love the IV Food Coop, they are a small store but have most everything I need. Lots of Miyokos cheeses and other vegan dairy like yogurt, butter, and cream cheese, plus my favorite brands of tofu and seitan, plus tempeh, and vegan meats. Great selection of local and organic produce too, and bulk bins!

the co-op is awesome!

the best place in IV to get vegan groceries! they have so many frozen vegan options, an entire fridge filled with vegan cheese and meat, and multiple deli items! my favorite is the best f#$@%*! wrap ever, it’s so good!

fast, easy, accessible

A lot of easy and clearly labeled vegan options (both for groceries and in the ready-to-eat deli fridge). Pricier than the average grocery store, but one of the easiest places to get to and best-stocked groceries in IV. However, they do support a lot of good community initiatives, stock a lot of local food, and treat their workers very well from what I understand so I think it's worth supporting them despite the price if you have the money for it! Workers are also really friendly.

My only real complaint is that the deli foods can have portions that sometimes fall a little short of being filling, and some of the wraps/sandwiches are a bit bland. If buying from the deli food, I'd recommend the thai peanut tofu wrap if you want something flavorful and a decent portion size.

Pros: supports philanthropic causes and local farms, many clearly labeled vegan options, thai peanut tofu wrap!

Cons: sometimes bland or small portions in deli

BEST

Every time I've been in this little co-op, I've basically wanted to just get everything.

If I lived on Isla Vista, this would be my to-go shop for sure!

YESSSS

This place is heaven for a vegan shopper looking for groceries. I love coming here to find all of my vegan meat and dairy substitutes! Great staff, too. Plus, since it's a coop, there are constant free events like yoga and brunch

Pros: everything

Awesome Place!

Tons of organic, local, and vegan options. I am so in love with this little co-op by the sea! One of the tiniest, but best quality health food stores I have ever found. Highly, highly recommend!

Pros: Amazing produce selection, Lots of fun Vegan (junk food) options, Some truly amazing employees!

Cons: Moody/poor attitude of some cashiers, small frozen section, no egg replacer sold here

What A Co-op Should Be

Although tiny they have a huge array of things many of which aren't carried at the local whole foods. Definitely worth driving out of your way to shop here.

Fun little co-op near Santa Barbra U

This is a really small place, but it has some outdoor seats and a college town atmosphere. It was bustling with students from the nearby university. There are only a few parking spaces, though.

Very Nice

It's a very sweet little co-op and has a big variety of stuff. It reminds me of the Alberta co-op at home in Portland, except this place has some new and cool stuff that I've never seen before... All the sandwiches in the refrigerator section look amazing (and I heard that they are). All the produce is local, organic, and beautiful. I also found some great raw vegan cashew cheese that they sell there... The total for grocieries felt a little high, but I'm from Oregon and used to not having any sales tax. Overall, this store is great. All of my vegan grocery needs were met, and then some!

Pros: Healthy Food, Great Variety , Locally Owned

Cons: A little on the expensive side
