Great BnB option - Edit
This was a great alternative to Premier Inn/ Travel Lodge options when travelling long distances between England and Scotland. It’s run by Hare Krishnas who were very kind and helpful.
Read moreThe room was basic but clean and had everything you needed. We got an en-suite twin room & it had a kettle and hairdryer. The bathroom had motion activated lights which was a bit annoying at times. The setting is rural and nice although a bit wild so they could do with more volunteers to help probably.
They provided free meals, which were a bit of a walk away up the hill (mentioning in case you have limited mobility). The food is vegetarian be default but a lot was vegan and they let us know what was suitable to eat (just a few things made with ghee). We had a vegetable curry with pan puri for dinner and for breakfast they made up a batch of vegan porridge for us, which we had with guacamole, some kind of lentil dish, fruit, tea etc and freshly baked bread.
Overall a great stay and a bargain at about £50 a night for the both of us
