Est. Feb. 2025. Vegetarian Indian restaurant that clearly labels vegan dishes! Some of the vegetarian dishes could possibly be made vegan upon request. The owner is very welcoming to vegans. Open Mon 17:00-22:00, Tue-Wed 14:00-22:00, Thu 09:00-17:00, Fri 12:30-22:00, Sat-Sun 12:00-22:00.

Enjoyable meal

Very helpful proprietor & an enjoyable meal that cost €54 for 3 people having 3 main dishes stuffed kulcha a matar pilau. The 3 main dishes also came with rice or vegan naan so we had both. So a full meal. Forgot to take photos.

good

Take the menu as guidance, but ask the owner what's possible. A lot more dishes can be made vegan or adjusted otherwise than indicated on the menu. Also, don't look at the tiny drink section on the menu, just ask for what you'd like. I think the menu is only accurate for take-away.

Initially I settled on mushroom fried rice but the owner talked me out of it by talking about the curries and how they could be adjusted (I said I didn't want a lot of oil and spices and that is usually the case with Indian curries). Also, he explained that all the curries could be made two ways: the usual choice is a paste based on cashew and the other is based on tomatoes. Eventually I chose the 'mix veg jayaka' with the tomato base.
I also ordered a samosa, after I had asked if they could be made vegan (doesn't say so on the menu).
I had wanted the fried lentil doughnuts I had seen on the online menu but they weren't possible.

The samosa was very, very nice. Would order a bunch of them next time.
The main dish was nice but not exceptional. It's good that the meal was adjusted to my taste so my body was happy, but when it comes to taste and refinement I've had better (Indian/Nepalese) meals. The 'veg' in the curry was mainly potato.
The rice, something Indian restaurants usually excel at, was surprisingly below average.

Was pleasantly surprised by the black tea I got, even if it was a tea bag. That's something I never understand, though: in India and Nepal everyone is very good at making tea but in Indian/Nepalese restaurants in Europe you only get standard tea bag tea. Anyway, in this case the tea bag tea was above average!

No vegan desserts and from the vegetarian desserts not everything could be made. My vegetarian dinner companion was happy with the mango lassi but also said his main course (which wasn't adjusted) could have been more refined.

All in all, a good place but not exceptional.

Pros: lots of vegan possibilities and other adjustments, good service, samosas

Cons: not exceptional, menu not accurate

Simple but very good dishes

Large menu, even overwhelming if you don't know Indian cuisine. Very reasonable prices. Dishes are simple but very good quality. The plain nan you can choose with many of the dishes is worth upgrading to something a bit less plain. It is probably also worth to add some side dishes to add some variety. You don't get the enormous portion sizes of many restaurants. We also liked their desserts.

Menu is a little hard to read because it has white text on a black background, and small letters.

Pros: Good food, Reasonable prices, Friendly people

Cons: Chosing is difficult if you are not into Indian, Pictures in the menu don't help much

Heerlijk Indiaas eten

We komen zeker terug!
