Used to be good... - Edit
For a minute, Iron Hand had a vegan chef who created a vegan menu. It was excellent, especially when they would make vegan desserts.
Read moreHowever, we went recently and were told they no longer have a vegan menu and the vegan chef left. We ordered the dips and a Flatbread. The dips were underwhelming, and the artichoke dip was particularly terrible. The flat bread we got was decent.
Back when they had the vegan chef, the dips would change and they were always delicious and interesting. I didn't get to try everything on the vegan menu unfortunately but we were always happy with our meal and grateful for food that was clearly lovingly created.

Food is ok, cool building - Edit
Had pizza with vegan cheese. They make their own crust and marinara. Bartender said they still have veggie burger and vegan chili that aren't on the menu.

Cons: You have to ask to get things vegan

Extra star for Vegan options in a non-vegan friendly city - Edit
There aren't a lot of options here for vegan, unless they are accidental vegan. However, Iron Hand has intentionally put some vegan items on the menu, which I greatly appreciate.
Read moreThey were out of the black-bean burger, which I did not appreciate, but the bartender, when I was finally able to get her attention, was super-helpful and noted they could make a vegan pizza because they had vegan cheese. I am not much of a fan of the fake animal products but I also like to reinforce good restaurant choices, so I ordered it and it was shockingly good. I think the cheese was unecessary. If I get it again I'll get it without the cheese because it was so good it just didn't need it.
Other than that, yes, the waitresses and bartenders are very slow and a bit aloof, but very helpful once you get them.
Also, was a bit surprised by the price of the beer. $7 for my pint. I'd expect $5 or $6. However, I don't know the other brewery prices in town.
I am not sure about the pretzel, and not sure how it could not be vegan, as long as you get it without the side.

Lunch & Beer - Edit
We stopped here as it was in Happy Cow, but no reviews. So I will change that. The staff was clueless, the owner helped us. They have a house made black bean burger, not very flavorful and mushy(chronic vegan problem). I had a bowl of chili also house made it was very good with a hint of spice. I applaud them for trying. Biggest disappointment was the pretzel was not vegan, it’s says it is in the description.

Cons: Not knowable , Messed up our bill, Limited choices.
