Serves meat, vegan options available. Detroit style pizza offering a vegan pizza 'Humble pie' with almond based cheese, and roasted veg. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-9:00pm.
We were visiting Mr Smalls for a concert from out of town. Iron Born Pizza was one of the only places that had vegan options and within walking distance from the venue. There was only one review so we weren't sure what to expect.
There is no advertisement of the Humble Pie in the shop, only on the website. We asked and they made it for us. All their pies are Detroit style with a thick fluffy crust. We ordered one for the two of us for $13. It took about 15-20 minutes to make and was plenty for the two of us! I could see this place getting super busy later at night, calling ahead could save you a long wait.
The pie was approximately 10"x10" square, sliced in half one way and cut into 4 the other, 8 pieces total. I can honestly say this was one of the absolute best pizzas I have ever had! The crust was light and fluffy not gummy.
I was intending to snap a few pictures but the pie didn't stand a chance! My only regret is not ordering a second pie for a snack on the way home!
I’ve tried a bunch of vegan pizza options available in Pittsburgh, but I think Iron Born’s Humble Pie is the best/my favorite. I would give it 5 stars if HappyCow would let me.

Best Detroit style pizza - Edit
The vegan option is gold. From the dough to the crust to the sauce to the veggies. Don’t sleep on this place!
