Counter selling oyaki, which are dumplings stuffed with different types of vegetables such as potato, pumpkin, mushroom, and/or red beans. All the varieties are vegan. Previously loocated in Midori department store (the sub-store called Oraho, 2F) which is part of the shopping malls in Nagano central train station. Located in the basement of the shopping center. Take the escalator down and go straight ahead and take a right. Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-8:00pm.

Is now fully vegan, and amazing!

See picture - no longer uses dairy. Amazing fillings and pretty reasonable. It's on the second floor, in the right section of the shopping centre.

So delicious

Amazing food which is easy to take away! The green onion and mixed vegetable were sooo good. Non vegan family love it too.

Excellent and quick

Easy to grab on our way to the train out of Nagano. Super tasty (except the thistle, which wasn’t my style). Despite the fact that the dough is buckwheat-based I guess it still has wheat because the staff said that none of them were gluten free, so my wife was disappointed.

Pros: Cheap, Tasty

Cons: No gluten free option

Delicious Oyaki

What a simple but delicious meal - Oyaki, a bun stuffed with vegetables and a local speciality of Nagano. The mixed vegetables was our favorite but we also enjoyed the pumpkin, green onion and mushroom. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Although a take out or take away, there is seating only a few metres away which is next to a bar where we also sampled some local beer on tap - a perfect complement to the meal. Highly recommended.

Pros: Delicious local Nagano vegan food

Cons: None

right where it was supposed to be

Irohado Oyaki stall, Friday, 30/6/2017 1pm
This was just inside the Midori department store 2nd floor, accessed from the pedestrian overbridge. Staff very friendly and helpful and heated up the Oyaki so we could it it there in the foodcourt seating area. They pointed out which ones we could eat and gave us an English language printed explanation of Oyaki. We had mixed vegetable, pumpkin, bunashimeiji (mushroom) and adzuki bean filled ones and all were great. There were two other siilar stalls adjacent to Irahado and we had eggplant, thistle and plain and spicy nozawana-filled ones from there. all were good too. These are quite filling and good value. Will probably be having more given limited vegan options that we know of in Nagano.

Pros: easy to find, friendly and helpful, tasty, filling food at good price

Great spot to grab a delicious local delicacy. The English chart with ingredients was very helpful to work out which ones were vegan friendly! We tried the pumpkin, the red bean, the greens and the eggplant ones. Sooo yum!

Pros: cheap, convenient , local delicacy

Oyaki-a Nagano specialty

We traveled to Nagano and were fortunate to find this small outlet in the Midori/Oraho department store, right at the Nagano train station. Oyaki are buckwheat dumplings filled mostly with vegetables, and most of them are vegan. One can find them in many places, but Irohado's dumplings are very tasty and the friendly counter ladies understood "vegan", also had a small information sheet in English with info about oyaki, names of dumplings (based on their fillings, such as mixed vegetables, daikon, pumpkin, azuki bean, thistle, mushroom, nozawana greens, scallions), calorie content and photos of the dumplings. Very conveniently situated and saved our vegan diet in Nagano (since some restaurants we found on the internet had closed...).

Pros: inexpensive, yummy, easy access from Nagano train station

Cons: not a sit-down restaurant
