Not a good vegetarian or vegan restaurant

They are out of the spring rolls, which are vegetarian. The beach bum tacos are not on the menu, but you can order them as a special request. Which I did, waited for a VERY long time for them only to get them on the flour tortillas instead of corn as ordered. The flour tortillas are made with lard. Next time I will go to Stripes and get a bag of Fritos and bean dip.

Pros: No pros

Cons: Slow and expensive, Very few vegetarian and vegan options , They mess up orders

Meh

The woman we ordered from did not know the menu, she said one thing “is pretty much vegan”… what does that even mean?! The carnivores were also unimpressed.

Pros: Great “island” ambiance

Cons: Hardly any vegan food, Staff doesn’t know menu

Helpful staff, delicious food

So few vegan options in Port Aransas! Irie can help you “veganize” some of the menu items. She knows her stuff! Food was GREAT. Fun vibe, and seems to be popular with locals. Irie knows many by name...but there might be a wait. Worth it, though. I will be back!

Pros: Irie (namesake) is knowledgeable about veganism, Beach bum tacos without cheese are incredible , Fun music (70s pop, mostly)

Cons: Very few vegan options, Small indoor dining space

Just went to Iries yesterday based on this review. I was told by staff to not get Spring Rolls because they are sealed with egg and fried with everything else non vegan. Beach Bum tacos were great! They also recommended the Mushroom Stir fry, which they swapped oil for butter to prepare. Really good!
