Fantastic!

Don't be fooled by the name - there's a lot more than just tea and cakes! Really good vegan selection and lovely meal combos that were full of flavour and different textures. Small cosy room and friendly staff.

Wonderful

This place felt like an escape from normality. Beautiful tea house with authentic tasting Japanese food and a calming aura. Would give 5 stars if I could. They so clearly understand veganism and their dishes are very aesthetically pleasing all round.

Pros: Lots of well priced vegan options , Vegan set menu , Vegan cakes and parfait

Cons: None whatsoever

Deserves 5 stars!

I understand why HappyCow reserves 5 star ratings for vegetarian and vegan restaurants, but this place is seriously GOOD! They serve authentic Japanese food (a lot of comfort food, like home cooking, but they have fancier dishes too) that is very hard to find anywhere in the UK.

Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, and unlike most Japanese restaurants, they fully understand what we do and don’t eat. No sneaky bonito when they say it’s veggie!

Food can take a while to be prepared, but to me this is a good thing. It’s lovingly made for you and that comes through.

Portions are satisfying, service is friendly and, as you’d expect from a Japanese restaurant, polite. :)

Long live Ippuku Tea House!

Pros: Excellent food, Good value, Calming decor

Cons: None
