Great group spot

Went here with a group of six and it was great. I will say my Ramen was the least impressive part but the chocolate cake dessert was amazing, the sake was also so good-- as someone who isn't a big fan. For apps, the gyozas, Brussels sprouts, and corn was really good!!

Only ok

I got sushi and ramen. For the sushi I got the Matilda with LEON - the fake tuna seemed to be marinated beet, which was pretty good. The rice seemed off though, not fully cooked. The ramen I got was the TOMA TAN TON - they only gave me three little tofu cubes😒so not filling - and the broth was not very flavorful, just salty (and I love salt) and the noodles mushy. The staff is nice and the location is beautiful. I was so excited to come but I will not be back.

Great food, but salty

Ippudo V is a wonderful place. Great vibes and great people. The food was tasty and interesting. Our only complaint is that the ramen was ridiculously salty and a bit oily. As someone who follows a whole food plant based diet, I do not use salt or oil in my cooking, so perhaps I am just very sensitive to it. All around a great experience, I just wish they had a no salt or low salt option.

Pros: Atmosphere was great, Wait Staff was very friendly and helpful, Service was fast

Cons: Food was too salty, Food was a little oily

Solid ramen

Pretty good ramen but not the best I've had. It's a little pricey too for the portion size. The dessert was really tiny given the high price as well.

Delicious and yes it's all vegan now!

They opened up vegetarian but have since become fully vegan from the appetizers, to the entrees, to the dessert! I encourage people to support them for listening to feedback and moving in the right direction.

As for the food - the Tonkotsu ramen was delicious and I'm excited to try their other ramens in the future. I shared the vrooklyn gyoza and the chocolate mousse - also very good.

While the quality is great, the prices are quite a bit higher than what I normally pay for vegan ramen at other places in the city.

Delicious ramen!

Really loved Ippudo V! Ate dinner on a rainy Sunday night—it was practically empty possibly because of the time of day and also the rain (which made for perfect ramen weather). Super kind waitstaff!

I loved the Plan-ton Tonkutsu vegan ramen! My friend ordered the Hakuna Matata Spicy Tsuke Men dish (carrot fettuccine noodles with broth, natto). Nato is not for the faint of heart, and certainly an acquired taste because of the fermentation flavor. But my friend really enjoyed it mixed in with the broth!

The Vrooklyn Gyoza was delicious! The best fake pork I’ve had (and I’m pretty picky about fake meats).

Loved this place! It was pricey though. And the other person’s reviews about potential concerns that some of dishes aren’t fully vegan is troubling, although I didn’t run into that upon my first visit to Ippudo V.

Best Vegan Ramen in NYC

Dined here with my family, who all agreed this venue is a great addition to vegan food options in NYC. Menu now very clearly indicates what is vegan and what is vegetarian (all the ramens are vegan), and server was very knowledgeable about vegan, e.g. highlighting all the sauces that came with the vegan gyoza were also vegan. Highlights: the gyoza, the Plan-to and the Shojin ramens, and the chocolate mousse which was amazingly good and relatively light. Prices are not cheap, but also in line with top-notch ramen restaurants in the City. The space is also very nice, with a rotating selection of photo books to peruse, and a view of Brooklyn from the garage-door style windows. Also had a delicious oatmilk iced matcha latte. Good selection of sake as well. Highly recommended!

Pros: Perfectly cooked ramen noodles, Clear indications of vegan vs. vegetarian, Chocolate mousse!

Cons: All good!

Pretty good

Broth was very flavorful, a bit too rich for me. The soy meat was delicious, but there wasn’t much of it. Too much cabbage in my opinion.
