Best Hoagies in TC - Edit
Since becoming vegan 7 years ago and moving from Philadelphia, I've been searching for a great hoagie. Some have come close, but Kevin and Lauren at Insane Vegan have ended my search. These hoagies are as great as any I've had, vegan or otherwise. Please support these fabulous, young entrepreneurs! I am eager to order from them again!

The food is absolutely delicious here! It takes way better than the pictures look like it would!😄My two picky kiddos even like their sandwiches! It is a small restaurant, so the food can take a bit to make. The staff is super nice. There is a parking lot behind the store if you do not want to park on the busy street.

We were driving through town and found this place on Happy Cow. We tried to order ahead of time online, but the website wasn’t accepting orders. Based on previous experience of restaurants being unexpectedly closed, I decided to call to make sure they were open. The person who picked up the phone explained that they would be open at 12:30pm (the posted hours started 11am.) He said something about not getting their supplies the day before. No big deal. We arrived at 12:30pm and they were open. I asked if they could make the tuna with Texas toast ( since I saw a previous reviewer had done this and it sounded good.) He said they could not do that. I mentioned I saw a review In which a customer had ordered this. He said it was his employee and they were not supposed to serve it that way. So I ordered the tuna hoagie and my husband ordered the Cuban. We placed the order at 12:30pm. It was finally ready at 1:10pm. It was delicious- I only wish they had included napkins. Overall, if you don’t mind a wait and some weird drama going on in the restaurant (some bizarre exchange between the server and someone else) then I recommend the place.

Came here the other day with my sister. She ordered the tuna sandwich, I got the tacos and we split a salad. All the food was delicious, greasy and full of flavor. The wait was a little long, but they're a small staff and they had a bit of a full house when we came in. They were super apologetic and we didn't mind the wait so it wasn't a big deal. I will be a regular here, can't wait to try the rest of their options. A little pricey but I love supporting local businesses and the food here is worth it.

I wanted to try their tuna, but I didn’t want all the dough of a hoagie. They were gracious enough to allow me to get a tuna melt (no cheese) on their Texas toast. It was very good! Great flavor, plenty of sauce (love this!!) and cut in half, which is perfect for eating. I do wish the bread was a little toastier, but it could’ve just been my 20 minute drive back to the hotel that made it seem like it wasn’t. Next time, I’d dine in (or eat in the car) to get the freshest experience.

I’m not always in the mood for a sandwich (and I’m not a fan of pizza, calzones, etc); this is the only thing that would keep me from frequenting Insane Vegan. However, I will return next time I’m in town and will try more of their options.

Owners were very friendly, let us try a sample of some flatbread they were working on. Got the Spicy Itay and Morning Chirp, both are great - they use the exact type of bread I’m nostalgic about from sub shops. They even have a kids menu too, which is cool since in my experience a lot of vegan places don’t have one.

Ordered one of almost everything and it was soooo good! we are on a cross country trip and anytime we find a fully vegan place that we all love (three adults and two kids) it’s a reason for a 5 ⭐️ review! The oyster sandwich and the 612 are amazing. Delicious fries. So so good. Black owned. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I ordered the Pasta and the Rib sandwich. Both were absolutely amazing. Note this is part of a bigger food 'court' in that it might be a little tricky to find - there's no storefront! The order kiosk wasn't working so a man took my order, ran it back, and then brought it out double bagged for me. Excellent service, incredibly friendly, and delicious food. Wish I was in town longer to try more!

I am vegan, friends are not. Everyone including myself LOVED the food! Not sure what the commenter below was expecting when they ordered hoagies etc., because those items aren't made from broccoli and lettuce. We had the 612, The Big Think, The Nodogs and they were unreal! I'm so glad they use Herbivorous Butcher and Gardein because they're the best. It's also a Black-owned business which I love. Thank you for coming on the scene and sharing your goods, we have been waiting for you!
