The dal curry was very good. Not spicy at all, which I prefer. The beetroot soup lacked salt and had too much pepper.

English below 👇 元町に今年新しくオープンした、南インド料理のレストラン『インドゥ』へ行ってきました。
Read more店内はカウンターがメインのシックな内装で、高級感がありました。
今回注文したのは一種のカレーのランチセットで3種類のカレーのうち、2種類がヴィーガンでした。
今回選んだのは『カシューナッツと季節の野菜の南インドのタマリンドカレー』で前菜が2種類とスープ、食後にデザートも付いていて税込み¥2420です。
少し高かったですが、私達がヴィーガンである事を伝えると、メニューにないヴィーガンのデザート(カシューナッツペースト)を出してくれました。とても美味しかったです。
因みにメインはチャパティかライス(南インドのケララ米)を選べます。ケララ米の食感はモチモチのパラパラで今まで経験したことのない面白い味わいでした。
飲み物は豆乳チャイで、これまた生姜が効いていてとても美味しかったです。
ハイクオリティの南インドインディアンレストランはあまりないので、機会があれば是非行ってみてください！
We paid a visit to Indu, a South Indian Ayurvedic restaurant located not far from Motomachi-Chukagai station last month. Vegetarian options are plentiful and clearly marked, and most of those dishes are actually vegan.
The restaurant is small but cozy. There are only two tables that seat four each, and ten or so counter seats. The owner and chef were very friendly and happy to explain the menu in English or Japanese.
We tried the cheapest lunch set, which included three appetizers, one curry, and a cup of tea with dessert. Each dish was prepared with care, with high-quality ingredients.
There weren’t any vegan desserts on the menu, but the owner was able to give us some kaju katli (cashew fudge) instead. Paired with a fresh cup of soy milk chai, it was a delicious end to a great meal.
At 2200 yen (before tax), this meal cost more than we’d normally spend on lunch, but it was a worthwhile experience.
