Lovely Indian with lots of vegan options

Visited on 08/11/2025
After seeing the great Happy Cow reviews we made sure to make a reservation for Indian Temptation for dinner while we were visiting Bath.
Was not disappointed, plenty of vegan options on the menu. The food was excellent, freshly made and the staff very friendly and fully understood the vegan diet.
Recommend the tandoori broccoli, not something I've seen on an Indian menu before but well worth a go!

Pros: Loads of options

Great quick lunch stop in Bath 🍛

We were on a group tour visiting Bath and needed a quick lunch spot — this was perfect. The food came out fast, the flavors were comforting, and everything tasted freshly made. The potatoes were definitely my favorite (but I’ll admit, I have a soft spot for anything with potatoes!). Overall, a solid stop if you’re craving Indian food in the city center.

Fantastic Indian cuisine

We enjoyed a family meal here. The temptation thali (vegan) was exquisite. The dosa was perfect for our 5 year old as well. Staff were friendly. Highly recommend if in the area.

Ok. Nothing special

Service was friendly and quick but they seemed keen to close.
It was 9.30pm and they close at 10pm.
Not a lot of paneer and the sauce was either from a jar or was pre-prepared.

Decent Indian Thali

Decent Thalia with great tasting potatoes, spinach and curry. Dosage could have been a bit crisper and idli seemed old. Sweet was unimaginative. They did accommodate vegan which perhaps made difference in flavors. We corrected check which came at half expected amount but then felt annoyed at then being charged surcharge.

Pros: Decent Indian , Option for vegan Thalia , Option for windows seat

Cons: Restroom could use some deeper cleaning and paint

Very good Indian restaurant

Indian temptation is a friendly veggie/vegan restaurant in the centre of Bath. Mostly a veggie restaurant but it has lots of vegan options and has a specific vegan menu so ask for that. I had the spicy broccoli as starters and the masala dosa as a main and they were both very flavoursome. The food is also quite good value for money so I will definitely visit again if I’m in this area.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Reasonably priced , Lovely staff

Great Authentic Indian Food

Update March 2024 - visited again before a gig at the Forum and had another amazing meal, I can still highly recommend.

I loved my meal here. There are many authentic south indian options on the menu like Dosa and Idly along with a few of the more english favourites. They have a seperate vegan menu which has a lot of choice. The food turned up quick and was all to a very high quality, none was greesey and it all tasted very fresh, I can most recommend this place, especially the Aubergine dish (baigan), dosa and idly!

Vegetarian Indian restaurant

Revisited Dec ‘23. As impressed as before. Quite a few of the dishes have a bit of a kick so keep that in mind! Had a lovely experience on New Year’s Eve.

This is a veggie restaurant tucked away on Cheap Street in Bath, with a separate vegan menu including some tasty starters, sides and mains. They use only veggie ingredients (no mock meats).

Best bombay aloo

We love this place! It was our second visit, after holidaying in Bath a few years back- this time with arrived with our 18month old. It was the Bombay Aloo that pulled me back... Who am I kidding?! This dish was the reason I booked another trip to Bath. I was hesitant if the food would live up to my memories, but it most certainly did! Not only was the food delicious, the staff were incredible. It was a relatively quiet weekday lunch and our son decided he was in no mood to sit and eat. They gave us colouring bits, said it was no problem if he wanted to walk around the restaurant and even offered to hold him whilst we ate. By just being welcoming and understanding that toddlers don't like to sit still most of the time they made the lunch stress free! Only downside is they don't have highchairs but offered us a booth to accommodate toddler better.

Pros: Bombay aloo + the food im general , Family-friendly , The most welcoming and approachable staff

Cons: No highchairs

Carved by another's hand

A wonderful and simple no frills vegetarian Indian restaurant with a multitude of vegan options. Utterly magical. Pickles and popadoms? Yes. An utterly delicious masala dosa. Tarka dhal, lemon rice and a sublime Bombay aloo. Beautiful food

Pros: Location , Lovely staff , Sensational food

Cons: Grotty toilets

Good food but some policies regarding behaviour to customers should change

We are new to bath , A family of four, once we found this restaurant weekly once or twice visit Indian temptation, met owner once, he was good, but yesterday we had a bad experience with one of their staff. Me and my daughter refused to have dinner. He asked how many people are there. We say two then he directly said no seats for two. He could politely ask to book a time or ask to wait until seats are available. Actually there was three or four tables vacant. Owner should think about once rejected anybody dare to go such a place. We feel they have no respect for customers.

Pros: Good food

Cons: No respect for customers , Customer service policy should changed

Open high ceiling room with lots of light, friendly staff with excellent service, but not rushed, and wonderful vegan food with enough options. We were very happy with our meal. You can tell they care about the details.

Pros: Separate vegan menu with many choices , Excellent flavorful food well prepared, Nice setting

Delicious food, friendly service

Loved it so much we went 2 days in a row. Plan to go back again and again to keep working our way through all the dishes. Great to have all vegan options on a separate menu.

Most delicious vegetarian restaurant ever visited.

They serve the most delicious food. One of the highlights of Indian Temptation is its exceptional flavors. The dishes are prepared with authentic Indian spices that create a symphony of flavors in your mouth. Whether you prefer mild or spicy, the restaurant can cater to your taste preferences. The quality of ingredients used is evident in every bite, with fresh herbs, spices, and vegetables making their presence felt in every dish.

The service at Indian Temptation is top-notch. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They are happy to provide recommendations and accommodate any special requests. The restaurant also has a well-curated wine and beverage list, allowing you to pair your meal perfectly.

Simply Delicious

Loved loved loved all our food, they even gave us extra chilli on the side (chopped up!) in case it wasn't spicy enough!

Staffs were friendly, lovely decor and colours - the only rough patch was that the staircase did not smell very good, which is unfortunate as you have to go up the stairs to get to the restaurant.

Lovely Indian dishes

Plenty of great Indian food options, ranging from curries, dosas and thalis. Fully vegetarian but with a separate vegan menu. The restaurant is super cosy and was very busy & popular when we visited. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. I would say the only downside was that it was a bit cramped in, but that’s obviously just a sign of how popular they are, and some of the curries were very sauce heavy with not a lot of vegetable in them, but they were totally delicious.

Pros: Fully veggie with loads of vegan options , Delicious and authentic Indian food

Cons: Would have loved more aubergine in my curry
