Amazing Indian food! - Edit
We saw the reviews on Happy Cow for this place and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! There are many vegan options, all clearly marked. We placed our order and a few minutes later the owner/chef came out to welcome us and let us know that he is also vegan! The food was some of the best Indian food I've ever had - would give it 5 stars if Happy Cow allowed! We got the channa masala, tofu curry, dal tadka, lemon coconut rice, roti, and naan - all so good. This is the perfect place for hungry adventurers! Wish it was our local indian restaurant!

Amazing food cooked with love - Edit
There is a clearly marked vegan section of the menu. We ordered the vegan tofu Curry and the vegan bowl. They were both packed with flavor and so comforting after a long day of adventuring.
Read moreWe are sometimes worried about ordering from a restaurant that is not exclusively vegan, especially when visiting a foreign country. But the owner Niyan (sp?) came out and chatted with us and we discovered he's vegan too. That made us feel very confident that he was going to do it right.
As a side note, he's an interesting guy. He said he rode his bicycle down from Los Angeles all the way to Costa Rica, and he settled here because his bicycle got stolen. Lol. Cooking is his love language. He also runs a hostel because he loves talking with travelers. He'll be opening a mini Mart in the same complex by the end of January.
I highly recommend this place to any vegan travelers to La Fortuna.

Owner explained how prices were high due to import embargo’s on rice and spices - still worth every Colones.
He’s also opening a vegan buffet end of Jan with staple foods and great prices. Cannot recommend high enough!

Quality ingredients, with huge portions and so much flavour. They have a vegan section on their menu and we had a vegan bowl each. The portions were so large we could’ve shared one bowl between the two of us easily. We ended up taking half home with us and we’re going to eat it for lunch tomorrow. I highly recommend eating here.

We went there for a lunch and had to wait for the food for more than an hour. We were quite pissed off, and very hungry. But when the food finally arrived it was all good, because the food was very delicious. I had baingan bartha and loved it.

Amazing Vegan Selection - Edit
We visited India Curry House in the hopes of finding some decent vegan options. Instead, we discovered a whole vegan menu in addition to vegan appetizers on the main menu. The food was spectacular. Just thinking about the veggie biryani, tofu curry and veggie pakoras makes my mouth water. Thank you for the amazing food and service! Pura Vida 🤙🏽

We stopped here for a “snack” and ended up eating a full meal. It was delicious. The Naan was excellent, just as the rest (the tofu curry was so good). Plus, the owner is kind. We could have talked with him all day!

We were craving some Indian curry’s, and were so happy to come across an Indian restaurant -we passed by twice and got sent away each time due to maintenance work. The third time we were finally let in - and waited ages for the food to be prepared. We had their chana masala and the vegan tali . Both quite bland in taste. And quite pricey for what we got.

Had good recommendations for this place, all ill-founded. Ordered our meal to go and when we got home I had to call and ask if they forgot something as meals for three people would. Make a single child cry for more! We paid over $75.00 for this. Never ahon. Go to the other restaurants and avoid this place. Terrible!!!
