Read moreIn Guter Gesellschaft‘s (means “in good company“ in German) breakfast options seemed promising. In the end they were really just ok. The sourdough bread was nice (in my opinion - two of us liked it, two didn’t). The accompaniments were fine, but not overwhelming (all agreed). The coffee was way too weak (all agreed). The oat milk was fine (for me; three disliked it). The Franzbrötchen was too small and not worth having (only one of us tried it).
I didn’t give the zero waste concept any thought until I was looking for a napkin. It takes some getting used to, but I respect the idea.
Still, I’m not eager to return. The food didn’t win me over. The staff was kinda inattentive as well. It would have been appreciated if there was an alternative to that oat milk, which wasn’t necessarily bad but not everyone’s cup of tea for sure.
There’s always a big flea market right next to In Guter Gesellschaft, so we had a stroll afterwards, that was nice. Better than the food anyway.
Side note: looks like they’re fully vegan now (at the time of writing they’re listed as vegetarian).

Die Pancakes waren versalzen, die Erdbeere war schimmelig und die Salatblätter waren auch schon alt, braun, matschig und nicht ausreicehnd abgespült (alles voller Sand/Erde). Leider rausgeschmissenes Geld und nicht mehr empfehlenswert. Das war vor ein paar Jahren noch ganz anders. Schade!

The café is nice and the service was friendly. I had a Franzbrötchen and a cup of tea. Unfortunately, neither was very good.
Read moreThe Franzbrötchen was ok, a bit dry, and somewhat small, especially for €2.80. Franz & Friends and Nur Hier have better and larger Franz' for less.
As for the tea, the only black tea they had was an Earl Grey; unfortunately, it had barely any flavour. I was served a glass of hot water well below boiling and, separately, too small a bag with the tea leaves. Strong, black teas like Earl Grey should be prepared with boiling water. The tea also needs space in the bag to steep. Neither was the case, and the end result after some steeping was slightly flavoured warm water. At €3.80 for a cup of tea, it should really be prepared properly.

Cons: very poorly prepared tea, too expensive for what you get

Quite busy which is so nice to see. Lovely service and tasty food. Can recommend the crumpets and sourdough bread with peppers and olives. Staff were lovely too. Prices reasonable.

I really loved this visit to the café! The waitress was very nice and the food was absolutely delicious. The restroom was clean, and even though it was quite loud due to tiled floor, the café had a lovely atmosphere.

Super nettes, komplett veganes Café - Edit
Es war echt schön in dem kleinen Café. Die Auswahl an Getränke ist phänomenal und die Kuchentheke genauso. Ich habe dort den besten Chai Latte ever getrunken, die heiße Schokolade ist auch super und das Bananenbrot ein echter Traum.

We went there on a weekday and were lucky to get a table, there were already a lot of people eating. We both had the vegan breakfast with a small salad, franzbrötchen, sourdough bread, fruits and sweet and salty spreads. It was very delicious, although it was too much for us and we could not finish the bread. Expecially the franzbrötchen was really good!

Read moreBeen there on a Monday morning. Not so busy. Breakfast was served quick. Everyone was nice.
They have great vegan big breakfast and roasted breads with toppings. Coffee was also good. My wife loved the homemade jam served with the big vegan breakfast.
Will definitely come back again.

Wir sind hier zum frühstücken gewesen. Das vegane Frühstück (12.50 euro) ist super um es sich zu teilen. Auf Wunsch kann weiteres Brot geordert werden (selbst gebacken und sehr sehr lecker). Auch die Aufstriche sind selbstgemacht und sehr lecker.

Great concept but food disappointing - Edit
5 stars for the zero waste concept, but unfortunately not for the food and drinks. Both cakes we had were not convincing. My cake was really boring and the chai tea very watery (as said in another review). Maybe it was because everything is supposed to be very natural and healthy, but also the plates of the other guests looked rather uninteresting. The service was a bit slow as the café was crowded and they had mixed up our order. Although I like the concept very much I wouldn't visit again as there are many many alternatives in that area.

Das Café war anfangs sehr voll und wir haben gerade noch so einen Platz bekommen. Das Konzept No-Waste ist super, und auch die Einrichtung sowie die Intention ist lobenswert. Auch die Bedienung war freundlich, aber wir haben ewig auf das Essen (zwei kleine Suppen) gewartet und ständig liefen die Kellnerinnen verwirrt umher und fragten, wem die Bestellung gehört. Wir würden also nicht unbedingt wiederkommen.

I asked for a bit more bread and it wasn't a problem.
I would come back to try some other stuff from the menu (pancakes probably)
The restaurant is stylish and cozy although a bit cramped.
