Serves meat, vegan options available. Chinese food restaurant. Menu includes a vegetable section with a fair number of dishes. Fried rice can be made without egg. Reported closed July 2024.
Staff was knowledgeable about what food was made with
We asked if the fried rice could be made without egg (like the description suggests), but the server told us it was premade, so the egg couldn’t be taken out
The chow mein is pretty good though, just a little expensive for the portion they give
The older review that recommended the bean curd and mushroom dish was spot on (that was definitely my favorite). We ordered that, the garlic broccoli and a side of steamed rice plus fried tofu appetizer... YUM. I mixed it all together with a bit of soy sauce and was very happy. Note: This is chinese style dinner so I would recommend to order a side of rice or noodles with the veggie dinner plates. So fair warning, that means if you just order the broccoli you will literally only get broccoli. But nice options in veggie dinner section of menu, large serving sizes, nice staff, cozy clean family vibe, it was a good time.
We had a stop on our trip from SF to LV and a look on happy cow. Glad to find the only spot listed in this city to get something vegan.
We came there and asked the staff. She didn't know what "vegan" is. We figured out something, that hopefully was vegan.
I had "silk tofu with rice". It was terrible and I had some problems the day after.
Next time in Bishop I just stop at the supermarket and have some fruits.
to cut it short, the food tasted OK (broccoli) or not good at all (silk tofu), but the worst was the two days after where one of us had lots of trouble with the stomach... full days on the road when you need a toilette every hour aren't that much fun!
staff was friendly though and the prices seemed OK
Stuck in a downpour in an Eastern Sierra downpour, we decided to go get dinner in Bishop, but thought it would be hard to find something satisfying and vegan. As luck would have it, we happened upon this place and had a very good dinner, with great service besides. The prices were pretty typical for the area, about $10/ entree. The Bean Curd with Chinese Black Mushroom was especially delicious, there was a pretty good sized and well rounded vegetable menu section, it was hard to decide what to get.
The atmosphere is casual but nice, we walked in pretty wet and a little dirty and it wasn't a problem, but the decor is chic and modern and it would be a good place for "nice" family dinner, too. There is a full bar, also, but we didn't take advantage of it.
