Beautiful space, excellent service - Edit
Loooved the design of the space (it’s also friggen huge for NYC), really attentive and thoughtful service (esp for vegans and food allergies), and food was very special. My favs were the artichokes and the coconut rice. They have vegan pita and can accommodate most dishes (that aren’t meat centered) pretty well.

Can't get reservations ... Sit at the bar! - Edit
Busy place on a Friday night. We weren't able to get a reservation but the full menu is available at the bar, which was quite comfortable. Exceptional service and nice people. Vegan options clearly noted on the menu, which includes the Lebanese classics you probably know (and love). Sever asks if anyone has any allergies. Need a vegan dessert when you're done? Head over to Ben and Jerry's, which will have at least a couple vegan ice creams to choose from.

great vegetable dishes - Edit
I first ate at Ilili in NYC about 15 years ago when Natalie Portman wrote a blog about their brussels sprouts, that she literally dreams about them. I can vouch for their amazingness. Once I became vegan, though, I started making them at home with an excellent recipe someone posted online, with vegan yogurt. You can order them now, without the yogurt, as a vegan dish and it will still be amazing! The hummus and dolmas were great. Carrots were a bit over-seasoned, but still good. Falafel was mediocre. The vegan pita was awful, though. Still I recommend Ilili for a splurge night on the town.

Good food, if a little pricey. - Edit
Unique flavors gave every dish its own personality.
Read moreMy partner’s house pita looked like a warm, fluffy cloud whereas the vegan pita was store-bought and practically a cracker.
Partner’s cocktail was tasty.
Pros: Hummus with mushrooms, Squash with couscous, Atmosphere
Cons: Vegan pita was store-bought?!?

Great food and atmosphere - Edit
Went last night and all vegan food items were marked on the menu in the restaurant. The menu on their website still does not have the vegan items notated.
Read moreLoved the Moroccan mint tea, served in a cute little tea press. The hummus and Moussaka were very tasty. Would like to go back and try some of the other dishes.

Beautiful Restaurant, Good Food - Edit
I was a bit sceptical of the resultant given that it only has one labelled vegan item on the menu, but don’t let this concern you. About half of the menu is naturally vegan, and the waiters can helpfully point out which options are vegan if you ask. I split a number of dishes with friends and left feeling full and happy with all the food I tasted. None of the desserts were vegan when I visited. The restaurant is well decorated and has a lovely fountain in the middle. The ambiance alone is worth a visit. Dinner per person came to about $50 each (no dessert and no drinks).
