We got three entrees and two desserts and they were all bomb dot com. So good. So much flavor. I don’t usually like seitan but the ragout was delicious, so was their cheese, I mean all of it top notch.

Read moreThe food was delicious, the cake tasted great and it's not crowded or noisy, because it's a bit outside of the center.
The service was good and everbody was friendly, everything tasted really fresh and I am sad I went there only once!
Prices are reasonable.
Location is cozy.

We had the lasagne and soya ragu linguini thinking they would be very similar - the lasagne is definitely better. The linguine pasta was a bit over cooked and lacking favour. Would just recommend sticking with the lasagne.

I'm not sure what you mean by "very tasty". Tastes in food are questionable. What you find only "decent" everyone else (most, thankfully) find instead very tasty. apart from that, you have omitted the fact that we are a totally vegan and organic place, the only one in Florence. So you can't make comparisons with places that offer a different type of food. If you are just looking for a place where you can spend little money, regardless of what you eat there, then you can easily find elsewhere ....

Ok, to make it very concrete. The tagliatelle with seitan ragout just tasted salty. There would be so much room for making it more tasty using onions, garlic, tomato sauce, oregano etc. This is what I meant by not very tasty. I am vegan for over ten years so I have a lot of comparison. And there are also a lot of options in Firenze nowadays, luckily.

OK! We don't use garlic and too many spices, we prefer to leave the flavor of the sauce delicate. It's our choice. Sorry you didn't like it. It's a matter of taste. Of course, in Florence you can find many other vegan options, and this makes me happy because I'm vegan too. I meant we're the only ones here ever totally vegan and totally organic.

The food was good, but not spectacular, but it was cheaper than most places I've been here. It's definitely worth a visit if you're nearby, but maybe not worth a 30 minute trek. I should add that the staff seem pretty friendly and the service was really fast.

Read moreCustomer service saw my review and replied rudely to comment, accused me of not being vegan (I am), and have a consistent habit of not accepting any criticism, however slight, well. This seems to be a consistent theme both in person and on Happy Cow to any reviews 3 stars or below. Do not respect their customers or their feedback. Whilst it’s great to see a vegan business in a country sometimes lacking in options, their complete lack of tact in the face of honest opinions is completely off-putting to me. Personal reviews are simple opinions, not an attack on a business and should not be treated as such. Entirely unprofessional. I maintain that I had much better food experiences elsewhere in Florence.

Wouldn’t really recommend it unless it is super conveniently located or you’re in a pinch. Food is really just okay and on this side of bland. Would not recommend the focaccia. Perhaps I just ordered something bad, but I found much better food options elsewhere in Florence.

I totally understand if you don’t agree with my review, but it is my honest opinion which I wanted to give for Happy Cow as I know, like me, a lot of travellers rely on these reviews. I would actually rate this 3.5, the mixed salad and tagliatelle with seitan ragout would be my picks from what we ordered. The tagliatelle was good and cooked to my liking (still chewy but not too hard), although a bit salty.
Read moreThe salad was nice and fresh and different to what we've had before in that it had raisins and corn kernels, which I really loved.
The eggplant parmigiana was ok, bit too tangy. The tiramisu didn't have much of a coffee or chocolate taste but the cream was quite a good texture. The sponge biscuit was a bit al dente for me, I would have liked it to be softer.
I would come back to try other menu items, and the pricing was very reasonable. Also, central location.

Worst vegan restaurant I've ever been to - Edit
We had the lasagne and the beyond meat burger. The lasagne didnt have any herbs or spices in the tomato sauce and almost no seitan pieces. It tasted like pasta with plain tomato sauce and some vegan cheese.

I don’t recommend this place because it wasn’t open at its stated opening hours. I can see the owners are active in replying to reviews on happy cow and google - perhaps the effort is better expended on letting customers know when your restaurant is actually open. I think this is really poor practice knowing that vegan community often seek out and travel to top rated restaurants from this app.

Strange! We have always been regularly open in our written hours. However if, as you say, you look at the internet first, you will also be able to see our telephone number. Instead of getting angry if you have any doubts you can call us. Sometimes a technical unforeseen event can occur which causes the working hours to vary a little. I don't think it should be that hard....
