Unappetising menu - Edit
The food has the appearance of coming from another era. The lasagne was so drowned in vegan mozzarella that I had to scrape it off the top, and the seitan had no chew at all, making for a very soft and tedious meal.

You are obviously used to eat junk food! What you call "defects" are instead the merits of our genuine and homemade food. We put a lot of mozzarella and vegan cheese to make our dishes very rich and the Seitan is soft and tasty because we make it fresh. All other customers appreciate us for this. You better go and buy food in supermarkets...

Great Meal - Edit
My wife and were pleased to find this vegan restaurant in Florence, after failing to find one for two days. It was worth the wait as we really enjoyed the meal.

Not the best vegan italian food. - Edit
- In every normal italy restaurant ist would have been better.
Read more- The lasagne was overcooked, nothing special. The tomato sauce was bland
- The presentation of the food especialy the risotto was really bad. Maybe the food is not fresh?
- The food came with a tablet, like in a canteen of a University. Without tablets it would have been more a restaurant feeling.
- The vegan white vine and the lemonade was delicious
- They have a few cakes
- The food came fast, but we were the only guests
- The service was okay. We ordered at the bar and the food came to our table
- I don’t recommend the place. A typicaly italian restaurant has more quality and taste, even of they spontaneously have to make up something vegan
Veggy Days
You said a lot of carelessness!
Read more-The lasagna was rightly cooked and seasoned, and only YOU didn't like it. It's probably just a matter of your weird tastes. All the other diners have found them delicious! Our risotto is expressed and I will NOT ALLOW YOU to say that there is something "not fresh" on it, just because you did not like the "presentation"!!! Food arrives on a tray because we are a BISTROT and NOT A RESTAURANT! This is evident and is also written everywhere in the restaurant !! With us you have not paid for the "service" or any other extra charge! Food is ordered over the counter and should be picked up when ready. I, on the other hand, brought it to your table... If you didn't want the tray, you could simply return it to me! Before insulting my place, maybe try to look around and understand where you entered! Next time go to a "typical Italian restaurant" that you are looking for a lot, and do not enter a VEGAN BISTROT of which very obviously, you have not understood the style!!!

You tell him! I can't wait to visit your Vegan Bistrot and eat what I know will be outrageously delicioso vegan food!

We were happy to have Il Vegano close to our accomodation. The food here is good, and reasonably priced. My definite favourites were the goulash and the chickpea soup! So good!

Great Place - Edit
This place used to be called 'Veggy Days'. I really loved it the two times I went. Really friendly owner and good service. Very clean. The food was great: very tasty but also healthy. 100% vegan and a very large and diverse selection of dishes to choose from. Price was good and not very expensive. I wish there were loads of places like this around Italy.

Perfect mushroom risotto. - Edit
Simplicity and taste. I enjoyed the mushroom risotto, tasteful, perfectly cooked and the earthy mushroom flavor very well seasoned. I also had a salad which main ingredient was the radicchio (full of antioxidants), other greens, a spoon full of chickpeas, diced vegan cheese, some corn, tomato, grated carrot, almonds...all very fresh. The salad came with no dressing cause you can add your own extra virgin olive oil, bio cider vinegar, etc!

Pros: Simplicity and taste., Normal pricing., Fresh ingredients.

Great food and great value! - Edit
I loved this place! Came here every day because it was convenient and had awesome vegan Italian food. There were so many options from pasta and risotto to salads and soups, as well as vegan cakes and pastries! I loved the tagliatelle with seitan ragout and the vegan lasagne was amazing! Not a fancy restaurant, just an artsy and casual place that serves delicious vegan food.

The place looked like a bistrot and has not a fancy atmosphere (nice but simple). But we got homemade Tagliatelle (which wasn't even pointed out at the menu) with a real nice sauce. The cheescake was also pretty good!

I do not agree with you. This is your very personal opinion. Furthermore we have the cheapest prices in the city regarding organic and vegan dishes.

Much room for improvement - Edit
I always try support fully vegan places over vegan option spots (despite better judgement sometimes). This was unfortunately somewhere that doesn’t deserve the current rating. The Apple Tart was 90% bitter orange rind and also €4.50. It was decorated with what tasted like lemon dishwashing liquid. I would strongly urge the restaurant to remove this dish from the menu. The lasagna was €7.50 for a small portion that tasted okay but was stodgy and too dry. There is also a €10 minimum order required for card purchases. I’m giving them an extra star for being all vegan but I wish I had steered clear of this place

Veggy Days
Our apple pie contains bitter orange marmalade. It is also written in the menu. Everyone finds it delicious. If you didn't like this ingredient, you could take something else. The topping is organic limoncello cream. If you don't like it it's just a matter of taste. Our portions are currently the largest and the cheapest on the market. I challenge you to find a vegan lasagna in another restaurant that is bigger and cheaper than ours! Seeing is believing! The minimum request of 10 euros for credit card payments is extended throughout all the Italian territory. Indeed, many other restaurants ask for at least 25.00. This is due to the high taxes we have to pay in Italy for this type of payments. So, dear "Kingtut", before shooting negative comments, maybe better informed first!

Tasty Italian dishes - Edit
A little limited in choices, but includes everything you'd want from a classic Italian restaurant. The lasagne was super yummy and light, it was mostly pasta but the melted 'cheese' on top was perfect! It came with a handful of leaves, would have been better to came with a full on salad, thankfully ordered a side of chips too. Would recommend though! Also had a nice selection of cakes, but we went somewhere else for dessert. Fairly priced and tasty overall!

Not as good as expected - Edit
I went here with my boyfriend and we ordered the lasagne, the quinoa burger and the cheesecake with raspberries.
Read moreAt first we were a bit confused, because the english menu does not contain everything from the Italian menu, so we had quite a hard time figuring out what exactly we want to eat and what the other items on the Italian menu were.
It took a while until we got our food despite the place being almost empty. The lasagne was really, really good, but I missed some soy, beans or veggies in it. It was literally pasta, tomato sauce and cheese. The burger was a bit dry and only average. The cheesecake was okay, but we both ate better ones.
The prices tho are pretty cheap. We paid 18,50€ for everything and where satiated.
The staff was not so friendly, almost indifferent and spoke only a little english.
The bathroom was quite dirty as well (there was poop from another person right under the toilet seat) and the basket for the paper towels were overflowing (what I don't quite understand, because we came here right after opening).
It was still a nice visit, but I've been to restaurants that were way better.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Dirty bathrooms, Confusing menu, Semi-friendly staff
Veggy Days
We have a menu in Italian and an IDENTICAL one with an English translation. I do not understand the issue! It's all clearly written on a blackboard! There is no difference between the two. If you had any problems, just ask! The staff speak English well enough! Moreover, since we are two and we have to explain the menu in all languages, it is not that we can stay at all times to check what is happening inside the bathroom. Maybe is you you that have too many expectations. Next time, instead of going to a cheap bistrot, you have to go to a 5-star restaurant. Surely you will find the service you expect!

Cheap and delicious - Edit
Came here three times in two days as it was super close to my hostel and really affordable. After travelling europe and paying €10-15 for most mains the €6-8 prices are great. The meals are a little basic but for what you’re paying it’s definitely worth it. Definitely would visit again.
