Amazing pizza dough, otherwise okay - Edit
I had the vegan cheese plate for starters and a pizza. The cheese plate was interesting, but a little expensive for the quantity (15€). I then had a pizza with a radicchio base, which was very different and maybe just not for me personally. I liked it at first but then it became a bit too intense. I also thought the toppings could’ve used a little extra sprinkle of sea salt. The pizza dough itself was a 10/10 for me though, so good!

Atmosfera conviviale e simpatica, sembra di essere a casa.
Nel menù sono presenti opzioni sia vegetariane che vegane e sono l'una più buona dell'altra.
Prima del pasto viene offerta una tisana deliziosa.
Insomma, tutto magnifico!

Posto perfetto sia per vegani che per onnivori dato che ha tante opzioni di entrambi i tipi (direi un 50/50). Lo staff è gentilissimo e tutto quello che ho mangiato era davvero buono. Super consigliata la tagliata di funghi che mi ha veramente fatto volare. Tornerò sicuramente!

This restaurant is very vegan-friendly, with a variety of appetizers, main courses, and desserts clearly marked on the menu. I tried the vellutata and the risotto (which can be made with vegan cheese upon request) and enjoyed both dishes. The ambiance is warm and cozy as well.

We visited Bologna last week and I can say wholeheartedly that our meal at Il Rovescio was not only the best of the trio but the best of my life. The filleto di melanzane were sublime and so fresh and the carnaroli for the main left me speechless - it was the best thing I have ever tasted. Magnificent. I recommend going to the restaurant rather than the pizzeria next door (both the same restaurant) as the vegan dishes offered are the best I have ever eaten. It was so good we went back after our dinner on the third night to eat the Carnaroli again! Waiting staff were also so lovely. Thank you so much😄

They have many options, even desserts, which we didn't try though. In the menu they state that they don't see the vegan options as alternatives but as their own thing! Really loved it there very mindful of seasonal and organic produce. Would love to return if I come to Bologna again!

The undoubted star of my experience here, aside from the food, was my server, Luca. Right from the off, he there to make suggestions, supply the house special anise water, and even go out of his way to source a vegan bottle of wine (which was excellent) from what I can only assume was a private stash as it wasn’t on the menu and retrieved a residence next to the restaurant.
Read moreAs for the food, I was rather taken by the sound of many of the dishes so, as is normally the case, so decided to order far too much. The aubergine fillet and the cheeseboard were both wonderful ways to kick things off, and things only got better with the arrival of the olive, mushroom and potato pizza. I opted for the charcoal crust as I was informed that it made for a lighter texture and while I am usually skeptical of such things, the dough was incredible. While still flavourful, the beet rolls weren’t as good as the previous offerings, but the roasted potatoes made up for this. However, the biggest disappointment was the desserts. On paper they promised so much, but in reality they failed to deliver on both flavour and texture, especially the dark chocolate cake with spiced custard.
Overall, I would definitely recommend dining here, though you may want to miss pudding and find local gelateria instead.

Impasto delle pizze stupendo, una nuvola, cormicione soffice dentro e fragrante fuori. Davvero stupende. Noi abbiamo provato tutte e tre le opzione veg. La pizza caprese con crema di zucchine-pomodorini- formaggio vegano alle erbe è stata la mia preferita. Ottima anche quella con passata di pomorini gialli- melanzane al forno- zucchine trifolate e pomodorini semi secchi. Deludente invece quella con crema di radicchio- patate- funghi e olive, troppo amara e inconsistente come sapore. Molto buono anche il tagliere di formaggi vegani di loro produzione ( mi sono dimenticata la foto, avevamo fame 🙃)

I went to several restaurants/cafe’s in Bologna and this place was my favourite. I’m pretty picky with food and it’s hard to surprise me (or offer something unique) and this food was definitely something I haven’t had before. I went there twice and thought of going two more times just to try everything from the menu. I’d actually fly to Bologna just to get this food.
Read moreThe vegan cheese plate is a must-have! While travelling, I always have high hopes if I see a vegan cheese platter but it’s always a let-down. I’ve kind of accepted that it can’t be made good with current technology and maybe in a few years there will be tasty options. But this plate was heaven on earth.
I also ordered a special vegan offer for the day and it was one of the best things I’ve eaten in my life. I have no idea what was the dish name but I remember that it had potato and cabbage in it.
The chocolate mousse was a perfect end note for the night. Well balanced and great texture.
The staff were super nice and knowledgable and it seemed that they really loved what they do.
10/10 would recommend.

I would absolutely give Il Rovescio five stars if I could, but because it serves meat, I’m only allowed to give four. But the fact it’s NOT a vegan restaurant makes it even more incredible. The vegan dishes are not an after-thought or add-on, but absolutely delicious, carefully crafted and beautifully presented. We loved Il Rovescio for its attention to detail, its use of local produce and wines and its happy, relaxed vibe. Our waitress was lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful.
