I’m going through my HappyCow saves to see if I forgot to review some of the restaurants I went to and this is one of them. I ate here on July 13th 2023. They had no vegan sauce options but we insisted and the waitress checked in the kitchen and they said they could make me a tomato sauce pasta. The portions were big and the pasta was delicious. But at the end of the day it’s just a tomato sauce pasta that I had to beg for. Definitely not worth the money or the struggle.

Good pasta - Edit
I have mixed feelings about my experience here. We had a day trip from Bergamo to Como and I was searching for some place to have lunch, and really hoped to have Italian food since it was the last day of our trip. There was not many places, but I saw this listed in here and got really hopeful because there was this one comment they had many vegan options offered. First thing I did was show my vegan ”passport” which was in Italian, because I wasn’t sure would they speak english well. The waiter immediately said they have nothing vegan because they are roman restaurant which meant carbonara etc. But as I show him they were listed on happy cow he said okay fine, we can make you one dish with vegetables, and asked me to check the menu.

The waiter seemed a bit annoyed about the fact I’m vegan, and as he found out my partner wasn’t, he seemed kinda relieved and said ”thank god” and then apologized to me… 🙄 not sure how it really was, but this was my mixed feelings experience. Might be that this is the famous Italian sarcasm/humor. Anyway, nothing too serious and the food I got was tasty and filling! Apparently there haven’t been many vegans visiting but at least they understood well what it means so I’d say it’s a safe place to get something to eat in Como 🙂

Italian restaurant with amazing vegan options - Edit
I went the day before to ask if they had vegan options and the chef told me she would make something for me. On the next day she had 5 different vegan proposals in addition to 6 different pasta "shapes" not containing eggs. The dishes were amazing and the portions huge. Lovely experience.
