Loved that they had soy based vegan flavors (and three at that), which have been more difficult to find throughout Italy. More than just sorbet and chocolate fondente. The vegan flavors when we went were Pistachio, Hazelnut and Cremino. Vegan options clearly marked. Make sure to specify that you want a vegan cone when you order (you order the cone & number of scoops first). The owner was a little impatient and didn't speak much English fyi.
The ice cream was very tasty! They only had two vegan options apart from dark chocolate and a few sorbets though. AND taking a vegan cone costed me 1€ more...
Personale gentile e prezzo buono, ma, personalmente,
ho trovato il gelato troppo dolce rispetto ad altre gelaterie. Come esperienza nuova ci può stare, ma non lo ricomprerei un’altra volta.
They have a very good vegan choice: apart from a lot of sorbets and dark chocolate without milk, they also have three more flavours made with soy milk: cremino, hazelnut, and pistachio. They also have vegan, gluten-free cones, as well as Sicilian granita. I tried their cremino, with chocolate chunks, and pistachio on a vegan cone.
One of the beste vegan ice cream i've ever had! They had 3 vegan soy ice creams. Sadly you need to pay 50 cents more for the vegan options but it's absolutely worth it
Indeed one of the best vegan gelatos I've ever had. Also the place is very nice. But they need to add more options for vegan, three is not enough to visit the place constantly
Haven’t had a gelato since going vegan almost 3 years ago. Was very impressed with what I had at Il Gelatiere. Although the weather did not permit, my love for ice cream was stronger. I had a combination of the two vegan flavours on offer. I can’t exactly remember the names but the first flavour was a chocolate fudge and vanilla blend. It had fudge chocolate pieces hidden inside which were lush. They were soft and sweet. Then the second flavour was supposed to be some kind of nut flavour. It literally tasted like a kinder beuno. So I imagine the nut was hazelnut. It was so perfect.
We sat indoors due to the crap weather and rain. But staff were lovely and accommodating. The shop itself was pretty. I can’t fault my visit, hence the 5 stars
Got the three vegan flavors they had (hazelnut, chocolate and what I think was kinder) and all three were fantastic. Even the chocolate wasn't bitter like in every other place I tried. Of course they didn't know a word in English like most in Napoli so it was a gamble for me to take all three flavors and hope for the best. Having said that, they were very nice and tried their best with the language barrier.
My friend got regular ice cream - kinder, negro (chocolate) and cafe and also really liked it. The price was also very reasonable (6.5 euros for 6 balls)
They have vegan gelato options that are clearly labeled, and ice cream cones that are both vegan and gluten free!
My wife had hazelnut gelato, I had "croccantino" gelato which has chunks of a vegan version of a nutella-like chocolate spread they also sell by the jar.
A third vegan flavor we didn't get is chocolate, made with rice milk.
Plus, it's conveniently located just a short walk away from the "Lungomare" (the seaside pedestrian walkway and park) and the Aquarium.
