Stumbled across this place on our way to the airport. Ordered the pee wee and was pleasantly surprised! It was full of flavor and the vegan turkey was great. I especially loved the sourdough bread. There were lots of options; would definitely go back.

Custom sandwiches with meatless vegan options - Edit
Good toasted subs. I told them I was vegan and they made my sandwich with daiya cheese even though it wasn't on the menu. Very helpful!

Many vegan options on the veggie menu. The sandwiches we took were delicious, all of the buns are vegan, the stuff is wonderful and the lollipop you get for free is also vegan😄

Good place for workday lunch - Edit
Got lunch here with some coworkers and everyone was happy. The line was short yet the service was slow at the time we were there (weekday at noon). Outdoor seating available.

I don't know about all that make-them-literally-throw-out-and-remake-my-sandwich hissy fit nonsense, nor do I worry about whether the staff are taking all the necessary precautions a previous reviewer requires to make their sandwiches 'safe' for a vegetarian, given that I personally have never melted or exploded when coming into contact with non-veg contamination.
Read moreWhat I do know is that this place is fantastic for its vegetarian and vegan options. Inside, the store doesn't actually list all of their sandwiches, or in fact Any of the vegan varieties. However, all the sandwiches are customizable, and you can ask for any of the vegetarian sandwiches to be made vegan. The staff all know what that entails without being told, so long as your definition of 'vegan' isn't as completely asinine as a certain previous reviewer. I'd perhaps rather eat at a fully vegan restaurant instead, given the chance, but this place is absolutely light-years ahead of similar sandwich/sub shops.
Pros: Incredibly friendly staff, Great atmosphere, Tons of options
Cons: This place is popular; the wait can be long, Not fully vegan or vegetarian

Be Careful - Edit
Although they offer several vegetarian and vegan sandwich options, the staff do not seem to be savvy to what actually entails making that sandwich. You not only have to ask them to change gloves and clean knives/workspaces, you have to watch that they really do it.
Read moreAt the store on Hillsdale in San Jose, the person who took my order said she put in the order to change gloves. I watched and they did not do so. They were not happy when I asked them to make it again.
At the store at the Plant, the girl who took my order, was VERY nice about making sure everything was safe for me. She even took the time to explain it to the two workers who looked very confused as to why they would need to change their gloves, or use a clean knife to make a sandwich for a vegetarian. They got a nice fat tip!
Pros: Many veg options, You get a lollipop, They are pretty quick and the stores are clean
